Full description of the position

Overview:
The Executive Sales Director, Health Systems - West Region is responsible for a team of sales executives charged with growing revenue from new and existing Health Systems accounts across CA, WA, OR, NV, ID, AK and HI. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the Health Systems sales strategy for the region, building key client relationships, developing comprehensive plans, and delivering compelling value propositions which result in the award of new contracts.

Reporting to the Regional VP, Commercial for the West Region, the Executive Sales Director will manage a team of 4 direct reports. The position will be based out of our West Hills, CA regional HQ, but the successful candidate can work remotely from CA, WA, OR, NV, or ID. Significant travel (50-75%) will be required.

Salary Range: $165,600 - $269,600 / year + SIP + Equity

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategies and plans to effectively target and secure profitable health system reference laboratory business in line with the regional growth strategy.
  • Direct a professional sales team in collaboration with other functions in executing the strategy and achieving the growth targets.
  • Develop reliable processes to create a robust pipeline of opportunities to ensure a close rate that achieves annual goals.
  • Own relationships with influential decision-makers at targeted health systems, understand their needs, and work with the team to develop and present winning value propositions.
  • Collaborate with the service delivery team to ensure clients receive highest level of service during their on-boarding phase and during the transition to an account manager.
  • Engage with other sales leaders, marketing and operations in developing market plans and value propositions for targeted health systems.
  • Remains current of marketplace changes impacting customers; maintain a working knowledge of the company’s differentiating products and those of the competitors.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Life Sciences is required, with an advanced degree preferred.
  • Ten (10) years of successful sales experience in the healthcare industry, with B2B transactions required; experience selling into the C-suite of hospitals/health systems is highly preferred.
  • Five (5) years sales management experience is required.
  • Knowledge of reference laboratory business, tests and processes is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry, payers and regulations
  • Understand the general economics of B2B business transactions.
  • Track record of achieving sales results and successfully leading teams
  • Ability to travel across the geographical region (CA, WA, OR, NV, ID, AK, HI) 50-75% of the time)
