Under the direction of the Personal Lines Manager, manage an assigned book of business in the Personal Lines Department to ensure clients receive prompt, accurate and professional service. Tasks include submitting bind orders for policy issuance, discussing renewals with clients, re-marketing renewals, providing overall account servicing to assigned clients, maintaining account accuracy, and billing and payment processing duties. Role can be based in the Rochester Hills or Farmington locations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage an assigned book of business in the Personal Lines department
- Discuss renewals with clients both verbally and via email
- Re-market renewals utilizing the PL Rating comparative rater platform
- Review daily download reports and identify issues needing to be rectified
- Attend both virtual and in-person meetings with the Personal Lines team to collaborate and stay current on carrier and industry trends
- Quoting and binding both New Business and policy Re-Writes when applicable, and keeping Account Executives/Producers informed
- When applicable, cross sell homeowners, auto, umbrella, and specialty Personal Lines products with existing clients
- Provide coverage insight to help clients understand their portfolio
- Build relationships with carrier Underwriters and act as an intermediary between the client and carrier
- Obtain client payment methods and process payments accordingly. Provide clients with resolutions to billing related questions
- Creates and maintains account detail in AMS360, including follow up activity and suspense tasks
- Performs administrative/clerical duties including filing, copying, processing mail, creating spreadsheets, etc.
- Process endorsements on existing policies
- Field incoming phone calls and contact clients by email and phone to clarify, provide, or acquire necessary information
- Maintains the confidentiality of all client and organizational data
- Demonstrates integrity, self-accountability, honesty, and a positive attitude toward clients, other staff, management, and business contacts in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: The job requires knowledge normally acquired through a college degree or equivalent work experience
Possession of a valid State of Michigan Property & Casualty Insurance Agent License
Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted office procedures
Experience: Two to Four years of job experience in a comparable role
Skills: Computer skills necessary to maintain various records and prepare reports
Familiarity with the use of general office equipment
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with a wide variety of business associates including clients, all levels of staff, Insurance companies, etc. in the exchange of information and resolution of outstanding issues.
Abilities: Physical ability to sit for prolonged periods of time at the computer.
Mental ability to handle pressures related to meeting deadlines, multi-tasking and maintaining accurate and detailed records.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Normal office environment with little, if any, discomfort due to heat, dust, noise and the like
