Sales Engineering
Reports To:
Director of Inside Sales Engineering
Overall Responsibility:
This person will help support the queue of complex opportunities and determine what type of solution is required. While the requests may come from sales partners, RVPs or other internal employees, it’s imperative that we act as an engineer on our partner’s behalf helping support the complex sales process. This person will be responsible for opportunity creation, tracking, and reporting within Salesforce to manage opportunity funnel to ultimately drive more sales. This person will assist with various project tasks, which may come from sales partners, Advanced Solution VPs, engineering peers, and/or engineering leadership. This person will work alongside various departments within Telarus to build rapport with suppliers through engagements and training.
Key areas of Responsibility:
- Help all stakeholders determine the appropriate solution and ensure a clean handoff to partner support so partner support can ultimately begin quoting and supplier engagement.
- Drive company revenue growth by improving agent performance monthly and working to enhance opportunities.
- Maintain healthy and positive working relationship with all stakeholders.
- Lead discovery calls with customers on partners behalf and uncover any opportunities.
- Identify needs for agent training and schedule appropriately.
- Contact, build, and maintain working relationships with supplier(s).
- Coordinate supplier trainings for engineering.
- Log and communicate registered opportunities for support follow-up.
- Regular, consistent, predictable attendance is an essential job function.
- Maintain consistent communication with manager throughout his/her employment.
- Train and keep up to date with emerging carrier products/services.
- Work towards technical certifications.
- Ability to identify Network, UCaaS, CCaaS, Network Security, Cloud, and Mobility/IoT opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations.

- Telarus Partner Development Managers
- Telarus Partner Support
- Other Telarus Engineers

Qualifications:
- Effective communicator via written, voice, and/or virtual or in-person meeting
- Effective listener
- Effective presenter
- Ability to ask probing questions in a conversational manner
- Must have a positive attitude
- Ability to project manage multiple projects and identify/address individual issues
- Display ability to think critically through issues to identify an appropriate solution
- Maintain a role of ethics and honesty
- Requires one industry certification achieved per year
- Previous telecommunication experience
- Ability to travel as needed
- Salesforce experience
- Prior sales experience
