Full description of the position

Description:


Summary:
Responsible for managing the existing account base and establishing new accounts. Performs follow up and cold calls, and educates customers on propane uses and benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Develops, builds, and maintains new and existing accounts.

2. Prospects residential, industrial, and construction sites for potential new business.

3. Generates cold calls and follows through with internal and external leads.

4. Networks to find new leads and keeps current with industry trends.

5. Work collectively with our Sales Admin.

6. Utilize our CRM system.

7. Schedules/makes sales calls and records in provided software.*

8. Markets Irish Propane & Carbonic Products. *

9. Continues education regarding product/equipment knowledge.*

10. Coordinates customer installations and work orders with propane manager.*

11. Visits accounts with new installations/major upgrades to ensure customer satisfaction.*

12. Contacts customers regarding past due balances, billing problems, cylinder/equipment issues, and questions when requested by the Accounts Receivable Department.*

13. Prepares and submits new customer and various other internal and external paperwork.*

14. Obtains pricing approval from sales manager on all new accounts.*

15. Renews and maintains all contracts and loan agreements with customers.*

16. Verifies customer cylinder and equipment inventories when requested by Accounts Receivable Department.*

17. Attends monthly sales meetings in Buffalo as requested.*

18. Remains on call periodically for weekends and evenings.*

19. Opens and closes office when requested.*

20. Reviews accounts periodically for profitability.*

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
