We are looking for a Sales Manager to join our team! The Sales Manager is a leader who is knowledgeable and passionate about the hotel industry and self-driven to perform in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. We are looking for someone who is proactive, highly ambitious, and of course, has a natural knack for building solid relationships and delivering excellent communication.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business through proactive sales efforts such as prospecting, outside sales calls, networking, etc. while maximizing banquet space to meet/exceed revenue goals
- Exhibit a sense of urgency in follow up and response time to all leads
- Demonstrate excellent selling and communication skills, and have a general understanding of property operations, food and beverage, and event planning to better meet the needs of our clients throughout the sales process
- Keep up with market conditions (i.e. competitor's strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand) and how to sell against them
- Utilize Marriott’s CI/TY system to build opportunities and quotes for pricing, set activity traces for follow-up, generate contracts and proposals, etc.
- Participate in daily business review, weekly sales meeting, training and other sales related meetings
- Conduct site inspections, attend industry events, as well as plan and execute travel schedules to tradeshows as needed
- Exhibit a positive and involved team attitude towards all hotel departments and maintain open communication with co-workers for the best overall performance of the hotel
- Must have own reliable transportation and possess a valid state driver's license to make sales calls when necessary
- This role is located on-property at Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key
- Sales office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am-5:30pm – flexibility required for site visits, pre/post-con meetings, Chamber or other related events that may take place during nights/weekends
Marriott CI/TY experience highly desired with a minimum of two years in the hospitality industry. Hotel sales experience preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $68,000.00 per year
