We are looking for a Retail Field Sales Rep to join our sales team. This sales team member will work to grow sales and visibility of Agri Beef Co and our company brands of Snake River Farms, Double R Ranch, St. Helen’s and Rancho El Oro in key markets through sales activities and developing relationships in Food Service and Retail distribution. They will also educate and train distributor representatives about our Company and Brands.

Responsibilities:

  • Making sales and obtaining contracts with customers. Confirming both long and short-term contracts with customers for best possible service levels.
  • Accountable for price decisions, marketing programs/accruals and contract decisions to achieve sales goals and market initiatives per budget.
  • Sound judgement and decision-making ability.
  • Sound negotiation skills to achieve best possible price for best return to Agri Beef.
  • Work closely with Sales Management and other sales colleagues, to identify opportunities in target markets, pertaining to pricing, specifications, logistics and competitive information.
  • Books travel and all accommodations in a timely manner to maximize effectiveness with an emphasis on minimizing costs.
  • Participate in customer meetings to sell, train and educate on AB Brands. Trains customer’s sales team to educate them on AB Company and family of brands.
  • Participate and decides with co-workers to maximize load weights to minimize freight cost.
  • Maintain all accounts by investigating short paid invoices and writing and negotiating credits.
  • Inform customer of traffic and delivery problems and shortages.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships. Effectively manage customer base and ability to foster new relationships. Be open to change in customer base as dictated by sales performance measurements.
  • Works closely with Scheduling, Credit, QA, Pricing and Logistics to ensure best possible customer service levels.
  • Reviews reports, both statistical and narrative to improve sales margin opportunity and to help provide ideas for business growth and to sales opportunities.
  • Promotes and sell all AB Brands, new products and programs, boxed beef, offal, VAP and grind.
  • Communicate market conditions and competitive brands information to keep the company competitive in markets it sells in to.
  • Seeks new items and trends from customers and assist in new product/item development.
  • Support strategic objectives for sales growth within assigned accounts/areas.
  • Help train, motivate, and develop distributor sales and purchasing staff in an effort to increase market penetration on our brands and products.
  • Provide outbound sales support with network of relationships. Measure against weekly sales inventory reduction objectives.
  • Can operate company order entry and reporting systems effectively and efficiently.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned, ie: vacation relief, etc.

Education & Experience:

  • Four-year college degree is preferred
  • Five years of success in sales is required. Protein sales preferred.
  • An extensive background in beef sales is strongly preferred
  • Culinary knowledge is preferred
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Must have strong negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work with a high degree of self-discipline and without immediate supervision
  • Ability to perform in pressure situations, while maintaining composure
  • Must be an enthusiastic and aggressive team player
  • Must be willing to travel 60% during the year
  • Must be able to follow up in a timely manner
  • Must have a high attention to detail
  • Must have a high level of integrity
