JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for selling, merchandising, inventory management, identifying potential markdowns and merchandise fill-in needs, sometimes ordering replenishment items for the MAC's retail store as well as club operations and team sports, and some purchase order receiving.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Conducts store opening and closing functions, including money pick-up and money drop.
• Reconciles daily newspaper sales.
• Conducts efficient use of the R.M.S. based cash register system.
• Sells club and team sports branded merchandise.
• Properly handles member account payments.
• Conducts special order coordination from customer to appropriate buyer.
• Tickets merchandise with price and security tags.
• Merchandises the new items onto the sales floor.
• Stocks the floor from the back-stock areas.
• Identifies reorders needed.
• Identifies potential markdowns.
• Assists in receiving P.O.s into the RMS system.
• Conducts inventory preparation and physically counts inventory.
• Conducts light housekeeping duties inside store and adjacent back-stock room.
• Conducts photocopying and faxing when required.
• Complies with all Club safety policies and procedures demonstrating safe work practices. Identifies and reports unsafe or hazardous work conditions. Reports all workplace injuries and illnesses to supervisor.
• Promotes the MAC code of conduct in club activities and demonstrates the importance of providing quality service to members.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by M-Porium Manager.
• Participates in all club-related training classes.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

2. Professional appearance.

3. Previous retail experience preferred.

4. Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office programs.

5. Fast and accurate keyboarding skills.

6. Accurate cash handling and check cashing/record keeping skills.

7. Well-developed personal initiative and organizational skills.

8. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other MAC staff, and members.

9. Ability to perform the essential job functions.

10. Conducts basic sundry and ready to wear purchasing and/or re-ordering (includes writing the purchase order).

11. Coordinates the weekly magazine receipts and returns.

12. Coordinates all merchandise being returned to the vendor regardless of the reason.

13. Assists in the creation of display windows.

14. Weekend and some holiday work will be required.
