This position will manage a territory covering the Western United States (mostly west of the Mississippi), and west of Ontario in Canada. The Business Development Manager is responsible for collaborating with Channel Partners, Area Technical Managers (ATM), and Vertical Market Directors to develop and execute growth strategies in targeted markets and regions for all Veris Flow Measurement Group products
Key Responsibilities
- Develop business and set goals with channel partners and work collaboratively with them to execute, achieve and grow yearly.
- Perform joint sales calls with Channel Partners and ATM’s across target markets and territory (50% travel).
- Build relationships and effectively communicate the benefits and value of Armstrong’s metering solutions.
- Actively utilize and update the CRM system (Salesforce) with accurate data to effectively manage the funnel of opportunities.
- Diagnose and solve customer problems by phone, video conference, or by customer site visits
- Attend trade shows and industry conferences to stay abreast of market developments.
- Educate customers, channel partners and distributors on the meter portfolio and value proposition.
- Assess competitive landscape and provide market and customer feedback.
- Organize and perform lunch and learns presentations with channel partners, ATM’s, end-users, and E&C firms.
- Assist with covering regional territories, opportunities, accounts and regional/national shows.
- Present products and solutions at technical conferences.
- Observe and comply with all company policies and ethics.
Maintain a commitment to teamwork and a positive, supportive attitude to all personnel. Continually improve prospecting, presentation, and negotiation skills.* Report all activities to Director of Global
Key Requirements
- BS in Business, Marketing, or Engineering [preferred].
- 5-10 years of flow meter sales experience and/or familiarity in Institutional and industrial applications and different flow measurement technologies.
- Commercial acumen and communication skills required to navigate complex solution selling situations.
- Excellent communication skills, aggressive, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable, extroverted personality.
- Strong project management skills.
- Knowledge and use of personal computers, and common business productivity tools such as word processors, spreadsheets, databases, project scheduling tools, Salesforce etc.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience solving problems.
Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills, initiative, flexibility. Identify, recommend and/or create localized marketing programs, tools and strategies
