The Key Account Specialist is responsible for maintaining customer accounts.
  • Manage the replenishment of products within assigned categories to ensure supply is balanced with demand. Use internal purchasing system to analyze existing product supply while managing existing replenishment and demand logic. Collaborate with suppliers to obtain purchase prices, including rebate negotiation when necessary. Utilize external systems to research competitive pricing rates. Drive preferred products within assigned category to achieve budgeted goals. Maximize sales within assigned category to increase branch profitability and overall gross profit. Collaborate with Director of Purchasing to ensure performance under budgetary guidelines and company goals. Coordinate with Distributor Sales Reps and District Sales Managers to develop strategic marketing of preferred vendors. Manage relationships with internal and external customers to achieve effective procurement opportunities. Collaborate with Category Management team members to identify opportunities for category improvement by account. Coordinate with Distributor Sales Reps to ensure new product requests are processed and introduced to the category Monitor performance of products within assigned category in order to achieve budgeted goals. Utilize BEK systems to produce and distribute monthly reports to evaluate performance of product lines within accounts. Synthesize information obtained from multiple mainframe applications to be included in key planning, budgeting. Assess performance of specific products within the category to maximize inventory turns. Focus efforts to reduce the amount of dead, excess and year-old inventory
Job Qualifications:
  • Prior management experience preferred Previous purchasing and/or manufacturing experience preferred Knowledge of Food Service industry helpful Ability to learn and use BEK applications Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills Experience analyzing large amounts of data Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of business experience
