Full description of the position

Job Description

As the Strategic Sales Executive for the Consumables business, you will work with internal teams, marketing staff and other leaders to increase consumable chemistry conversions within an assigned geography and maximize revenue for the organization. To achieve this, you will identify new competitive customer accounts, present to them the Belimed Protect portfolio of solutions and convert them to active Belimed Protect customers.

You will also help to manage existing clients to maintain user satisfaction and strong reference accounts. You will work to improve Belimed’s market position and achieve annual financial growth targets. Lastly, you will build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals, and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions, and assist with defining long-term organizational strategic goals.

This is a field based role covering the Greater Midwest and requires 50%-75% travel with overnights averaging 4 per month.

How you will impact Belimed and our clients

New Business Development
  • Identify and prioritize initiatives that align with the strategic objectives of Belimed’s
    Consumable Business Unit to grow revenue
  • Prospect for new business within small to mid-size local and regional integrated delivery networks (IDN)
  • Create and execute strategy for product evaluations and bidding opportunities leading to revenue growth of Belimed Protect consumable products within non-Belimed accounts
  • Maintain and grow a healthy pipeline of consumable conversion opportunities throughout designated area of coverage
  • Identify and call on wide spectrum of call points within hospitals and integrated delivery networks (IDN), including Sterile Processing Departments (SPD), Operating Room (OR), Infection Control, Value Analysis, Materials Management, Biomed and C-Suite work with key decision makers within the client organization
  • Support Corporate Sales efforts to obtain and implement National Account contracts and IDN agreements in conjunction with Corporate Sales team
  • Plan approaches and pitches by working with teams to develop solution proposals that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion
  • Present a comprehensive consumable solution that creates the ultimate desired outcome for the customer
Client Retention
  • Present Belimed Protect products and services to enhance existing relationships
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs
Business Development Planning
  • Obtain membership and participate in local/regional industry related functions, events, and associations important to territory relationship building
  • Provide feedback and information on consumable market and trends
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on consumable business trends with a view to developing new products, offerings and distribution channels
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
  • Use knowledge of the consumable market and competitors to identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators
Management and Research
  • Prepare and submit territory forecasts and call planning travel agendas detailing customer visits and progress
  • Ensure that data are accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM or other sales management system.
  • Forecast sales targets on a monthly basis and ensure they are met by the team.
  • Track and record activity on key accounts and help to close new business and meet/exceed financial targets.
  • Work with marketing staff to ensure that prerequisites are fulfilled within a timely manner.
  • Research and develop a thorough understanding of the company’s people and capabilities.
  • Understand the company’s goal and purpose to directly help influence continual organizational success and overachievement.

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent years of healthcare consumables sales experience
  • 5 years of successful consumable sales experience
  • Thorough understanding of the hospital purchasing process
  • Ability to develop strategic sales plans, as well as demonstrate the ability to plan, prioritize, monitor, and track all sales cycle events
  • Relational communication style and interacts well with all types of people in varying positions
  • Proficiency with sales documents and contracts, purchase orders, and financial spreadsheets and reports
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
