If you are a Senior Sales Professional looking to grow your career, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Hybrid based from one of Emerson’s offices in Chicago, IL, Cleveland, OH, or Pittsburgh, PA, you will join the Power & Water Solutions business Regional Sales team to develop and implement the key account business strategy to strengthen customer relationships in targeted markets. The successful candidate will be a dedicated individual, looking for the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skillset in Outside Sales to directly influence and enhance the business.
Power & Water Solutions is an industry-leading controls automation company that focuses on providing applications in the renewable (solar, hydro, wind), fossil (natural gas and coal) power generation, and water treatment plants sectors. We focus on upgrading existing plant control systems with industry-leading automation controls and instrumentation to promote the sustainability and longevity of our North American power grid and wastewater infrastructure.
AS A SYSTEM SALES ACCOUNT MANAGER – NORTHEAST REGION, YOU WILL:
- Develop and cultivate relationships with installed base and new customers to understand business issues and increase customer satisfaction and sales
- Provide technical presentations/demonstrations to inform customers of new products, enhancements, and services
- Implementation of sales pursuit plans, proposal preparation (as required), and negotiation support to secure competitively held business as well as installed base, such as control system replacements
- Present and recommend appropriate Power & Water Solutions technology and services to meet specific customer business requirements
- Provide reports and administrative tasks as required and assigned (expense reports, PATT, TBP’s, bid analysis, etc.)
- Promote Emerson’s brand through participation in professional societies and trade shows
- Meet fiscal year territorial booking and margin objectives Strategic account development and creation/implementation of territory business plans
WHO YOU ARE:
You understand the importance and interdependence of internal customer relationships and gain insight into customer needs. You pursue everything with energy, drive, and the need to finish. You are capable to be visionary and able to articulately paint credible pictures and visions of possibilities and likelihoods. You work through formal and informal channels to build broad-based relationships and support.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, technical discipline or equivalent
- A minimum of 6 years of related experience in power generation, engineering, field service, marketing, or sales
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this position
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPEREINCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or power generation-related field
- Previous power plant experience
- Excellent verbal communications skills, especially when addressing customers, clients, or official visitors
- Keen eye to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards and ability to suggest solutions for deficiencies or problems
- Excellent reading comprehension of technical documents, such as safety laws and regulations, assembly, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
