Schedule: Monday through Friday day shifts, full-time

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct product knowledge training for GFS sales teams, emphasizing selling COP, identifying USDA grades, and understanding custom cut specs for meat, veal, lamb, pork, and seafood.
  • Assist the sales team in identifying specific products customers are purchasing from competitors.
  • Consult with customers on menu ideas, new items, and opportunities to boost profits.
  • Research markets, analyze sales data, assess risks and identify product mix needed to gain market share.
  • Oversee large volume business and communicate usages to buyers and cutshop.
  • Work closely with the warehouse and shipping team to ensure orders are fulfilled and find substitutes for out-of-stock items.
  • Perform ride-alongs with broadline sales reps to prospect and penetrate new accounts for Halperns’ products.
  • Maintain and develop CDS and customer relations, working on referrals with both Halperns’ and GFS sales teams.
  • Attend food shows to showcase products and build connections.
  • Advise the GFS team on stocked items vs. JIT to optimize inventory.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Meat Science, Animal Science, Culinary, Marketing, Sales or related field is preferable.
  • Minimum 5 years of previous experience in food service, broadline sales, retail sales or related field.

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience demonstrating the ability to perform essential job functions will also be considered.

Requirements:

  • Driver's License required for this position.
  • Knowledge of commodity markets, forecasting models, and industry segments, with the ability to proactively translate data into effective decision-making for developing new business.
  • Strategic thinker with skills in building relationships, networking, and resource linkage to plan and execute business practices and achieve goals.
  • Excellent multitasking and prioritization abilities, with the capacity to work independently or within a team.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills, along with effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated capability to prepare and deliver presentations, representing the department to both internal and external customers.
