We have an immediate opportunity to join our team in the role of an Inside Sales/Customer Service representative. The primary responsibilities of an Inside Sales/Customer Service representative are interfacing with customers promoting the company as well as to process quotes, orders, and inquiries, while providing continuous support to the Outside Sales Team members and Upper Management.

Expectations and Duties (will include but not be limited to):

· Process telephone, email, and web-based inquires by quoting:

  • Product
  • Price
  • Delivery
  • Payment terms
  • Upsell - Accompanying Product Offerings
  • Substitute Product (when necessary and appropriate)
  • Quote Follow-Up with Customers to assist in converting to Sales Orders

· Process Received Customer Purchase Orders by:

  • Processing Sales Order Acknowledgement
  • Updating Price and Delivery (when applicable)
  • Providing Customer with Information on Accompanying Product Offerings
  • Purchasing (when applicable) Items to Fill Order Requirements (always check inventory first)
  • Expediting with Suppliers to Insure On Time Delivery
  • Fill Backorders, Print Picking Tickets, and Compile Documentation for Billing
  • Execute Billing, Invoice Printing, and Invoice Submission to Customer – if applicable at the Branch
  • Communicate with Customer and Outside Sales Account Manager any changes in Order Status

· Assisting and Supporting Outside Sales Team Members

  • Processing Priority Transactions
  • Project Support
  • Open Order Status Report Updates
  • Technical Research Support
  • Customer Communication Support
  • Communicating Customer Needs, Inquiries, and New Customers to the appropriate Outside Sales Team Member and / or Sales Manager for Outside Sales Follow-Up

· Increase Business by Selling to Customers in addition to taking Orders

· Gather Marketing Information regarding Customers, Competitors, and Pricing

· Implement Sales Strategies set forth by Senior Management

· Participate in Training Opportunities

· Gain Familiarity with Day to Day Operations of the Business and Participates in Improving Operations, Efficiency, Performance, and Profitability

· Participate in Branch Operational Meetings

Other Responsibilities:

  • Updating Product Pricing for Inventoried Items to insure accuracy
  • Work with Centralized Purchasing Agent regarding Inventory Min / Max Levels and Inventory Needs to Maximize Volumetric Discounts from Suppliers
  • Supporting and Encouraging Strong Supplier / Vendor Relationships
  • Maintain Documentation and Records in Appropriate Locations
  • Maintain an Organized and Clean Working Environment
  • Use Sound Judgment, Listening, and Problem Solving Skills
  • Exhibit a Positive, Friendly, and Helpful Attitude

The role of an Inside Sales Customer Service Representative is a fast-paced, multi-tasking position. It is a vital role working directly with the company’s most important asset – Our Customers!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
