Position: Fitness Director

Job Description

As a Fitness Director with Muv Fitness, you represent the entire Fitness Department. You are a leader to your personal training staff as well as partner to the club General Manager. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop individualized exercise programs that are effective, challenging, and consistent with member’s personal fitness levels and exercise goals and ensure all staff members are maintaining the same highest quality of service
• Facilitate and monitor company-wide fitness initiatives
• Engage with members and assist with exercises to ensure member safety
• Work with General Manager and Operations Manager to ensure facility is clean and operationally sound
• Conduct gym walkthroughs to clean and re-rack weights and ensure facility is clean and safe
• Provide high quality customer service in a fast-paced, energetic environment
• Provide and maintain the highest level of customer service through personal actions and development of staff
• Provide effective decision-making regarding customer service issues
• Hit or exceed monthly revenue quotas

Financial Performance & Sales:

• Directly responsible for the department’s financial performance in total personal training revenues
• Responsible for hitting or exceeding personal & club monthly sales quotas and metrics
• Personal Trainer payroll control and processing
• Work closely with the membership department ensuring that initial fitness orientations are being booked and the fitness consultants are building value on the tour
• Ensure that the PT presentations and orientations are structured and standardized and consistent with company protocols

Team & People Management:

• Hire, train and schedule all personal training staff
• Manage, monitor and evaluate the performance of all personal training staff
• Continual Development of a high performing team through coaching, teaching and training
• Develop product knowledge of all team members
• Delegate, monitor, and evaluate specifically assigned responsibilities of fitness team
• Oversee fitness team’s process and systems
• Lead team to achieve total fitness experience for all members regardless of experience level

Qualifications

• National Accredited Certification preferred. On the job certifications and continuing education credits are available with employment
• 2 years’ experience in the fitness industry preferred
• Current CPR & First Aid are required and must be maintained through employment.
• Ability to create and sustain a culture of service focused on hospitality, caring, welcoming and fun.
• A passion for fitness. Demonstrated knowledge of fitness equipment and wellness strategies.
• Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Strong MS Office software skills with an ability to adapt learning to incorporate new technologies.

Job Type

• Full-time

Pay

• $65,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
• Can earn signing bonus of between $5,000-$10,000 based on the ability to recruit, hire, & train experienced fitness professionals

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

• Portland, OR 97216: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Management: 1 year (Preferred)
• Fitness sales: 1 year (Preferred)
• Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• AED Certification (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
