POSITION SUMMARY:
  • The Sales Support Lead reports to the Sales Support Manager.
  • Located in San Diego, CA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • As part of the Sales Support Department, the Sales Support Team Lead will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Sales Support Supervisor and Manager in presiding over the Sales Support department, Business Development Manager, and Inside Sales team.
  • Fills in for the Sales Support Supervisor/Manager as needed
  • Assists with motivating, recognizing, and rewarding employees.
  • Delegates work to Sales Support team members as necessary. Including monitoring of the all-floor emails to ensure everything is handled in a timely manner. As well as ensuring that the team is responding to the main line equally and in a timely manner.
  • Assists the Sales Support Manager in the development and implementation of team training, scheduling, etc.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies within the department and initiates action to advance the department and company
  • Provides feedback and guidance to Sales Support team members on daily tasks.
  • Provide assistance during quoting and bidding process
  • Research and issue credits, returns, and price adjustments
  • Proactively seek opportunities to engage in up-selling and bundling techniques in order to profitably grow revenue
  • Assist BDMs in closing sales by providing assistance on quotes, orders, and product research
  • Maintain close working relationship with assigned BDMs and customers in order to understand the competitive marketplace for the benefit of customers and TriMark
  • Work closely with manufacturers, vendors and BDMs to develop quotes and bids
  • Provide support for customers via phone and email
  • Develop a working relationship with key contacts inside and outside of the company, facilitating smooth coordination of the sales and marketing process.
  • Resolve problems with billing/invoices and inventory issues under the direction of the sales team
  • Serve as first point of contact for the Sales Support Specialists
  • Assist in training as needed for new SSSs, Business Development Managers and others
  • Assist with the revision and update of training materials and SOPs
  • Lead training classes for the Sales Support team as requested by the management team
  • Mentors new Sales Support Specialists
  • Attend trade shows, vendor trainings and customer meetings as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree; or, for applicants without a Bachelors degree, applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED and two or more years experience in a sales support position within a customer service and/or food service environment. Or equivalent Military or practical experience.
  • Experience within the hospitality or food service field, with working knowledge of food service, back of the house and front of the house supplies.
  • Sales/Call Center/Phone support role, supporting external and internal customers with multiple product lines.
  • Prior experience with vendors, manufacturers, or buyers/purchasing agents a plus.
  • Experience in distribution environments a plus.
  • Flexible, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • 1 year experience as a Sr Sales Support Specialist
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.
Language Ability:Minimum:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong conversational phone skills, and experience dealing with customers.
  • Solid understanding of proper grammar usage, sentence structure with average (or above average) spelling skills
  • Ability to think on your feet and respond quickly, as well as, reprioritize to meet ever changing needs.
Preferred:
  • Some experience with basic business writing.
The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidates unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMarks benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
