Overview:
The Project Manager will lead the multi-discipline project team with advanced degrees of direct and indirect project responsibilities while utilizing a fully developed knowledgebase of the telecommunications site development process. Project work will focus on new site development of macro and small cell sites, the modification of existing telecommunications facilities, fiber optic networks, and other project types as required. Direct project responsibilities will include culture, personnel management, financial management, business development and project reporting. Personnel management will focus on leadership and production. Financial management will focus on NB+C’s project-level budgeting and P&L. Business development will focus on building strong client relationships and interactions, as well as identifying new opportunities and sales of services. Indirect responsibilities will include supporting the accounts receivable team via PO management. Advanced problem solving and analytics will be employed and shared with the team. Project leadership will be applied across all disciplines and divisions. The Project Manager will be responsible for the delegation of responsibilities to discipline managers and act as NB+C’s primary interface with the client, including all sales efforts from inception to award.
Responsibilities:
Personnel Management:
  • Create, manage and delegate the project responsibilities across the members of the multi-discipline project team.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the team
  • Engage and direct inter-company divisions within the project parameters
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals in Saba Cloud for the management staff and the project staff, including goal setting, career pathing and ongoing feedback.
  • Promote the utilization of NB+C’s Human Capital software suite in order to communicate and facilitate performance feedback throughout the year.
  • Collaborate with NB+C leadership to facilitate the creation and implementation of market strategy as it pertains to business development, production and project management
  • Serve as a cultural ambassador to promote NB+C organizational priorities
  • Collaborate with the NB+C director to develop compensation plans for the project team
  • Assist team members through shared knowledge, training and mentorship associated with similar project responsibilities
  • Provide guidance, best practices, lessons learned and practical training to the team
  • Identify and correct project performance or disciplinary issues
  • Collaborate with the NB+C director to develop staffing strategies and coordinate personnel needs
  • Interface with other NB+C Project Managers sharing common clients in other markets to promote communication amongst peers
Financial Management:
  • Assume ownership of the complete financial cycle of the project, including revenue recognition, P&L, budgets, forecasting, PO management, unbilled and accounts receivable
  • Achieve the assigned goals associated with the financial success of the project with a focus on exceeding annual targets
  • Interact with NB+C corporate services and other internal groups to provide project support and leadership, and troubleshoot issues.
Business Development:
  • Act as the primary liaison between NB+C and the client regarding new and on-going business development opportunities
  • Assume ownership of the complete sales cycle of project opportunities
  • Report on new project opportunities within the client offices and collaborate with the NB+C director to facilitate new sales and project add-ons
  • Achieve assigned goals associated with the financial success of the program with a focus on exceeding annual sales targets
Project Reporting:
  • Develop and maintain the project schedule for internal and external reporting
  • Act as the primary liaison between NB+C and the client regarding project status, project scope and other project issues including identification of new opportunities
  • Maintain or delegate maintenance of the internal and client databases and project trackers as required within the project
  • Lead or delegate internal deployment meetings to other NB+C discipline managers to review project statuses and implement changes necessary to ensure timely completion
  • Attend and present during internal and client status meetings as required within the project
  • Anticipate and identify problems with project scoping, lease terms, zoning requirements, construction issues, regulatory issues, and other factors that may render a candidate unusable or inhibit a project scope to be carried out
  • Represent NB+C in a professional manner when interacting with landlords, external vendors and clients
  • Assess project risks and work to alleviate such risks. Risks include project viability as well as delays to the project timeline
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Advanced Degree preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in telecommunications site development / fiber development
  • Proven track record of success on multiple fiber projects and multiple client settings
  • Practical knowledge of all telecommunications site development disciplines, including site acquisition, land use, construction management, RF, environmental, engineering, and general contracting services
  • Professional and applicable understanding of project management principles
  • Professional and applicable knowledge of financial reporting of project results
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, including public speaking and presentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven ability to lead a team, including achieving excellent cross-discipline and outside vendor results
  • Proven ability to responsibly delegate project assignments
  • Exceptional sales, negotiation and mediation skills
  • Detail-oriented and possess strong follow-through skills on the project schedule
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally
