ABOUT THIS POSITION
The Phoenix Convention Center & Venues hosts a diverse range of conventions, trade shows, meetings, and entertainment events in one of the premier convention facilities in the United States. We enhance the economic vitality of the downtown area, the city of Phoenix and the state of Arizona by supporting tourism-related industries, businesses, and cultural organizations.
The Phoenix Convention Center & Venues is seeking a Multimedia Specialist to join their team in the Sales & Marketing Division. The Multimedia Specialist will perform a variety of technical and administrative duties involved in the planning, design, coordination, and production of various audio-visual and digital media to support the City's communications, marketing, and public information needs. Such media includes live and video productions, high-quality digital photographs, and social media.
Additional duties include planning and coordinating special programs and events, answering written and social media inquiries, and serving as Phoenix Convention Center Social Media liaison. Work involves the application of professional knowledge and personal judgment in a wide range of media production, public relations, and administrative activities.
Other essential responsibilities of the role include:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance our brand image and drive attendance to our events and brand awareness.
- Create engaging and visually appealing content (including written text, graphics and images, photos, and video) for social media platforms (such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo) that align with our brand and resonates with our target audience.
- Manage the social media content calendar and ensure timely delivery of all content.
- Monitor and maintain social media accounts for customer feedback and respond to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner and monitor the accounts for any potential issues.
- Analyze social media data and report on performance metrics (including engagement, reach, impressions, and conversion rates) to measure the success of social media campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.
- Identify and stay up to date with social media trends, best practices, and emerging platforms to ensure the Phoenix Convention Center & Venues social media presence stays relevant and effective.
- Collaborate with internal teams (including sales and events) to ensure that social media strategies are aligned with overall business objectives.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Demonstrates superior seamless customer service, integrity, and commitment to innovation, efficiency, and fiscally responsible activity.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Ability to use data to inform and improve social media strategies.
- Ability to create graphics, video, and visual content.
- Knowledge of latest trends in the social media industry and the ability to adapt to changes quickly.
- Familiar with digital asset management platforms.
- Solid understanding of marketing and advertising strategies to develop social media campaigns.
SALARY
Pay Range: $31.82 to $47.01 per hour / $44,803.20 to 97,780.80 annually.
Hiring Range: $31.82 to $42.64 per hour / $69,493.00 to $88,691.00 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Four years of experience in audio-visual productions, photography, journalism, public relations or a related field.
- Associate degree in television productions, journalism, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing, public administration, or a related field.
- Professional social media experience with major platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok to communicate and promote organizational news, events, and activities.
- Experience in creating content (including written text and graphics) for social media platforms.
- Experience in producing high quality videos, reels, and audio mixing for social media.
- Experience with social media scheduling applications such as Sprout Social, or similar programs.
- Experience with photo editing software such as Adobe Premier Pro, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, or similar programs.
- Experience working in the tourism industry or with a convention center or performing arts facility.
