The Hampton Inn by Hilton Greensburg, PA and Hampton Inn by Hilton Johnstown, PA are seeking an Area Director of Sales to join their teams and oversee the sales department. Your daily activities will involve outside sales calls, obtaining new accounts, managing existing accounts, conduct site tours, and networking with the local business communities to drive sales for two hotels. You will also be accountable for forecasting, creating promotional materials, and constantly communicating with your General Managers and Assistant General Managers.
The Area Director of Sales is responsible for leading and developing a proactive sales effort with corporate, group, leisure, military, religious, and sports market segments. As the Area Director of Sales, you will be responsible for the oversight of advertising, promotional initiatives and contributing to overall revenue generating efforts of the hotels to maximize hotel profitability and maintain customer satisfaction. This includes driving sales, maximizing ADR and achieving budgeted total hotel revenue expectations at both hotels.
Job Requirements:
- Solicit, negotiate, and book both new and repeat business
- Actively sell room nights through outside sales calls, telemarketing, site tours, etc.
- Direct, train, coordinate and supervise the Sales Coordinators in all sales-related activities
- Meet or exceed budgeted REVPAR for the hotels
- Prepare hotel's annual marketing and sales plan based on the hotel's position and strengths within each market segment
- Forecast occupancy fluctuations based on changing market conditions and direct selling activities to maximize revenues
- Participate in revenue management calls and strategize using STR Reports to maintain an awareness of the hotels market position
- Schedule and complete sales appointments
- Negotiate rates for LNR accounts based on volume and day of week arrival/departure
- Ensure that team members (specifically front desk staff) are familiar with key accounts and "specifics" relating to business booked in the hotels
- Represent hotels in community affairs and industry related events
- Assist with direct billings and travel agent commissions
- Maintain sales files and ensures accurate entry in sales systems
- Attend several tradeshows each year involving travel and overnights
Job Qualifications:
- Experience using Hotel Sales Force Automation (Delphi, STS, etc.) is a plus
- Must possess communication skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence professionals and/or hotel guests
- Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
- Ability to work well in stressful situations
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a vehicle to meet with clients
- Employee will be required to sit for long periods of time
- May be required to regularly lift and/or move 10 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
