Reports to ASM-Sales
Job Purpose Statement
Maximize company sales growth and profitability by supporting the sales manager(s) and sales team, in order to deliver an engaged experience to every customer, every time.
Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)
Leadership
- Partner with the sales manager to maintain store sales and service goals and standards.
- Lead designated sales team and manage sales floor coverage appropriately, as determined by the sales manager or general manager.
- Coach sales team associates on exceptional sales performance.
- Maintain a strong, visible and positive presence on the sales floor.
- Lead by example and maintain a sense of professionalism at all times.
- Guide and oversee adherence to consistent processes and safety standards to ensure the effective workflow of the sales team.
- Support all efforts and initiatives across all business channels implemented by the company.
- Support the company’s mission and goals, including applicable key performance indicators (KPIs).
Job Knowledge
- Possess and demonstrate company standards in selling, customer service, visual merchandising and teamwork.
- Partner with the merchandising team to ensure product and displays on the sales floor are stocked appropriately and available for customers to purchase.
- Promote the brand by engaging the customer and staff in creative activities and demonstrations.
- Develop, share and apply product expertise.
- In coordination with the sales manager and department leads, manage the closing routines of the store.
- Maintain, enforce and supervise store safety standards and training.
- Ensure full understanding and awareness of all current product and product information.
- Maintain awareness of all intranet communications, current advertising, promotions and other marketing initiatives, and communicate all pertinent information to store associates.
- Possess a complete understanding of applicable company systems, policies and procedures.
- Maintain an awareness of loss prevention, security and safety following the guidelines provided by management or the
Human Resources Department and/or as outlined in the Crate and Barrel/CB2 Associate Guide.
Results Oriented
- Focus on promoting and driving sales as they pertain to, or are driven by your position.
- Maintain awareness of current product on the sales floor and sell throughout the store.
- Provide feedback, share observations, assessments, and ongoing solutions with the sales manager and general manager.
- Demonstrate creative problem solving to maintain a solutions-oriented focus.
Associate Management and Development
- In coordination with the sales manager, manage all aspects of performance and development for part time sales team associates to encourage professional growth.
- Provide specific and timely feedback about performance directly to associates and share observations with the sales manager and general manager.
- Partner with the sales manager to train and develop sales team associates on product knowledge, selling, customer service, and operations.

Communication
- Communicate regularly with the sales manager concerning all aspects of sales, training opportunities, customer reaction, traffic on the sales floor and sales team associate performance.
- Communicate store and company sales goals and work effectively with all sales team associates in order to meet these goals.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with all company associates and business contacts.
Teamwork
- Actively participate in store meetings and training sessions.
- Conduct developmental conversations and facilitate meetings with sales team associates.
- Promote a strong sense of teamwork by working together safely, effectively, respectfully and efficiently with all associates.
Customer Service (Internal and External)
- Actively engage customers, remain attentive to customer needs and coordinate with the sales manager to proactively solve difficult or complicated customer issues.
- Meet customer expectations by making reasonable timely decisions.
- Model, maintain and reinforce company customer service standards.
- Support and model excellent service by exhibiting a positive attitude and enthusiasm toward the job and the company to both internal and external customers in all forms of communication.
- Ensure all customers are provided gracious, quick and efficient service.
Technical Proficiency
- Maintain awareness and demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of computers, systems and programs relevant to the position.
- Possess a complete understanding of training and communication resources relevant to the position.
- Participate in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position.

Job Qualification Requirements
Knowledge
Good reading and written language skills (English), excellent communication skills, basic arithmetic, interpersonal skills, presentation skills, telephone presence, data entry skills, organizational skills
Previous Experience
Previous customer service and retail experience; management experience preferred

Certifications and/or Degrees
High school diploma/GED or equivalent
Physical and Visual Activities **
On a daily basis, must be able to alternate between moving around for long periods and remaining stationary for long periods depending on the day and task at issue. Must be able to constantly reach or handle product, communicate, operate computers/POS/office equipment, and have visual acuity near and far. Ability to frequently lift or carry product.
May occasionally sit, kneel, bend, squat, twist, ascend/descend, push/pull and/or balance.
Physical Demands **
Movement of product, supplies and/or boxes to and from all levels of the store and stockroom. Ability to move and/or lift up to 50 lbs; heavier product with team assist.
Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions **
Hot/cold temperature changes, concrete floors, odors, dust and mechanical/electrical/chemical hazards possible
