We are currently seeking a technically capable Business Development Manager that will win and deliver Power Distribution and linear corridor Right of Way and Land Acquisition projects. This role will grow existing client relationships and support the identification and development of new clients for Stanley Consultants from our Austin, Denver, and Muscatine Energy sectors. The ideal candidate will have the drive to lead sales efforts and be an integral part of delivering Stanley quality projects that support and grow our services in their assigned territory.
This Business Development Manager will have the following duties:
- Provide leadership in the development of client relationships, capture planning, strategy, pursuit, and proposal activities.
- Participates in project scoping and costing and proposal preparation, interviews, and negotiations to the extent required.
- Reviews awarded project(s) to define project scope, determine work procedures/sequences and develops schedules, budgets, staffing, vendor lists and progress billing points.
- Review risk mitigation strategies and negotiate contract terms with clients.
- Prepare key client account strategies for maintenance and growth of services.
- Develop and enhance client relationships and serve as the primary company contact.
- Work with legal team in contract and fee negotiations for consulting engagements
- Participate in client interviews and presentations.
- Identify new business growth opportunities and work to meet return on investment goals.
- Communicate internally and report regularly on new business sales pipeline, client planning and opportunity tracking.
- Actively participate in Go No/Go discussions and make recommendations for Go No/Go decisions.
- Forms a project team and sees that responsibilities are assigned, and the execution of tasks are begun and completed according to schedule.
- Plans, organizes, communicates, and coordinates project engagements.
- Manages the day-to-day activities of project engagements including Clients and Project Teams
- Achieve project performance established for the engagement.
- Travel as required.
Required skills, education, and experience:
- Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or specialty field from an accredited four-year college or university with a P. E. is preferred.
- Possess a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience including a history of successful client management resulting in new and add-on business while leading a team of engineers.
