Commercial Sales Estimator

Honsador has grown over the years to become the largest building materials supplier in Hawaii. The Company has operations on all four major Hawaiian Islands with branch outlets on Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Kona & Hilo.
The commercial estimator position requires the ability to work closely with the General Managers and sales personnel statewide to provide commercial building supply estimates to customers. This position requires working in a fast-paced ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities:*

• Read and interpret commercial project plans, specifications, documents, blueprints and field technician measurements to gain a thorough understanding of each project.
• Prepares accurate cost estimates for projects.
• Managing bids from vendors and contractors.
• Consults with distributors, contractors and project managers
• Upon final approval, work with the Purchasing department to order materials for jobs
• Track and manage job to completion.
• Problem solves issues as necessary and provides viable solutions.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in estimating commercial projects required
• Daily use of spreadsheet applications
• Aptitude to anticipate problems, critical issues, and opportunities as they arise.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary along with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of building materials, building process, and local building codes preferred
• Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office suites
• Effective time management and prioritization skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working in a team atmosphere

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
