Job Purpose:
Responds to merchant and cardholder inquiries originated through direct mail, web request and other marketing campaigns. Takes inbound and makes outbound sales calls, consults with existing and potential merchants and cardholders. Knowledgeable about other company products and services. Extensive interaction with policyholders and other direct merchant prospects and customers. Meet performance and sales expectations.
Essential Functions:

Consults directly with merchant and cardholder prospects by phone and email to promote and answer questions regarding merchant and card services solicitations. Requests merchant account information and contacts merchant prospects to explain and propose merchant processing products and terminal equipment options for their needs regardless of provider. Ability to prepare merchant processing rate comparisons accurately and independently and present the information to potential merchant customers. Generate Marketing ideas that will help meet assigned goals. Focused on increasing active cardholders and total card spend. Actively help our doctors do more (HODDM) by promoting other company products and meets assigned goals

Ensures application and related documentation is complete and accurate and forwards to underwriting for approval. Responds to merchant calls to answer questions. Interacts extensively with other merchant and card services personnel to obtain technical resources when needed.

Utilizes various tracking and reporting systems to monitor prospective merchant and cardholder activity. Attends periodic training including interaction with the processing service centers.

Completes necessary sales documentation, including credit applications, equipment orders, etc. Assists with training of other sales and service staff. Remains knowledgeable about Visa, MasterCard and other Card Association rules and regulations and keeps current with industry practices and changes. Performs other related job-related duties as required.

Requirements:
Education: High School diploma. Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
Experience: 2-3 years related sales experience preferred. Prior sales, call center experience or other direct customer response experience preferred.
Skills: Requires excellent customer service, analytical/problem solving and decision-making skills. Requires excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Ability to learn various computer systems and the merchant services business. Requires attention to detail, ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Strong PC skills required.
Mental Demands: Must have the ability to focus on tasks for extended periods of time. Must be flexible and have the ability to work with a variety of tasks and employees. Ability to plan, organize, be detail and deadline oriented and maintain a high accuracy rate.
Physical Demands: Continuous sitting for extended periods of time, some standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Frequent use of fingers and hands to manipulate computers, telephone and other office equipment.
