Position Summary
Lead the Rantec Account Team accountable for follow-on business with current accounts that represent approximately 90% of our business; assure the Account Team provides excellent customer service and is able to produce results for both our customers and internal stakeholders. Maintain and promote a successful and positive work environment; provide coaching and counselling to direct reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the Account Team to deliver excellent customer service:
- Motivate the team to adapt and deliver against multiple priorities.
- Facilitate growth of Account Team by mentoring and coaching, to foster growth within their customer portfolio. Assess the team for strengths, teaching the team necessary skillsets.
- Implement process discipline within the Account Team and lead process improvement projects
- Build strong internal relationships with subject matter experts to be able to answer customer inquiries efficiently and effectively.
Manage Follow-on business activities:
- Drive orders forecast for Tier 2 accounts and drive the performance of the Account Team to effectively and efficiently execute versus orders forecasts for Tier 1 and Key Accounts.
- Maximize Salesforce utilization and effectiveness within Account Management Operations.
- Recommend annual catalog price lists for appropriate products.
- Coordinate with Repair Group activities
Account Development:
- Develop and encourage the Account Team to create intimate working relations with each customer at Supply Chain; assist entire Rantec organization in developing relations throughout our customers’ organizations.
- Monitor overall customer scorecard results as required. Identify the need to improve and work with operations and engineering to optimize processes and improve on-time delivery and quality performance.
- Assure that the Account team is communicating business matters with Rantec’s external customers effectively.
Oversee Quotation, Proposals and Contract Administration Effectiveness:
- Coordinate the follow-on quotation and proposal process in accordance with Management direction
- Be the front-line escalation point for the Account Team in development of strategies for proposals and negotiations to assure that contractual documents accurately reflect Rantec’s obligations: Understanding Request for Proposal scope
Understanding Rantec proposal scope
Reviewing DFAR / Customer terms and conditions for acceptability ESCALATION
Reconciling customer documents to result in clear, concise and accurate contract requirements, that are fully acceptable to the Rantec organization
- Disseminating and releasing contractual requirements to Rantec organization for execution
- Managing Contract Change-of-Scope opportunities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Travel
- Intermittent travel to customers and trade shows amounting to approximately 20% travel
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Marketing or Business, MBA or MS degree desirable.
- Minimum eight (8) years of Program Management, Sales, or Business Development experience within a defense or manufacturing industry including three (3) years of management experience preferably of a customer service or contract administration team.
- Experience developing teams and motivating employees.
- Proven ability to drive resolution of operational and/or contractual challenges with customers to satisfaction of internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and manage sales data to create order forecasts and proactively manage all stakeholders to match expectations.
- Experience with multiple types of government and commercial proposals, quotations, contracts and orders, including working knowledge of DFARS.
- Salesforce or other CRM application experience
- Proficient in software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook.
- Willing to fully relocate to Los Osos, CA area
