POSITION SUMMARY
Ready to join a US Best Managed Company? Kent Precision Foods Group (KPFG), a member of the Kent Corporation family of companies, has a fantastic opportunity to join their thriving team as a Regional Sales Manager within Kent Precision Foods Group – Foodservice Division.
This critical role will oversee the development and sales of KPFG products and services through distributors and end-users within the Foodservice channel in CA, OR, WA, UT, CO, NV, AZ, HI, ID, and AK.
- The successful candidate will ideally reside in the Pacific Standard Time Zone, or Mountain Standard Time Zone and be near a major airport.
- The successful candidate will be eligible for a company vehicle, and while not traveling will work out of their home office.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all existing and potential customers, foster strong relationships, implement and drive channel growth strategies and achieve assigned sales quotas and goals within assigned geographical territory
- Deliver growth to region by managing all foods foodservice distribution across customer segments (Sysco, US Foods, GFS, PFS/Reinhart, etc.) and significant Tier 2/3 distributors in order to exceed KPI’s
- Plan, schedule, develop, and execute sales trainings and new product introductions with Broker offices, Distributors and top Operators.
- Regularly support regional business development activities including food shows, sales meetings and trade shows.
- Regular collaboration with Division Leadership, Sales Development Manager (Team Based Selling) and key Broker personnel to develop regional strategies to achieve budgeted growth targets within assigned region.
- Introduce and successfully gain distribution with new products and implement supporting programs.
- Regular engagement with existing and prospective distribution and wholesale accounts to build relationships and trust
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of active and targeted end users in the region and make face-to-face calls on distributors and end users regularly
- Coordinate and participate in meetings with key accounts and all category reviews
- Train, ride with, and sell alongside Foodservice Distribution Direct Sales Representatives to support sales growth in assigned region
- Demonstrate strong, solution selling skills
- Participate in company sales meetings and industry events throughout the year
- Enter and record customer data into Customer Relationship Management System
- Resolve product quality issues immediately if issues arise
- Prompt handling of short pay/deduction/rebate problems as requested by Director of Foodservice, Customer Service or Controller
- Accountabilities and Performance measures include achievement of assigned sales quota, meets assigned expectations for profitability, achieves new distributor and end user acquisition targets, completes required training and development objectives within assigned time frame
EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of Foodservice experience preferably with a Food Manufacturing Company, Foodservice Distributor or as a Broker
- Experience working in a Restaurant as a Chef/or BOH manager is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Proficient in daily use of CRM System
- Ability to excel in a team environment
- Must demonstrate self-motivation at a high level of independence
TRAVEL
- 60% travel - position requires weekly travel of 2-3 nights out
