SoundCom LLC dba Sound & Communications is a regional AVL & Low-Voltage parent company that consists of (3) subsidiaries: Sound & Communications, Stage Center Lightning and Systronic Systems. Since 1955 we have offered sales, design, installation and consultation of Audio-Video-Lighting-Acoustics as well as Fire Alarm-Access Control-CCTV for Churches, Corporate, Government, Educational & Medical Facilities. We also offer Rauland Nurse Call and RTLS systems for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, LTACs and other Medical Facilities.
Summary of position:
Responsible for carrying out all company goals and objectives as it relates to this position. The Account Manager is responsible for exceeding sales revenue goals, developing and maintaining valued customer relationships, expanding the company's current customer base, and developing and maintaining professional selling skills.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for generating new business to expand current customer base.
- Ability to design your own projects effectively using SmartDraw, CAD and other available software/tools.
- Provide timely & accurate response to customers required proposal and/or bid request.
- Responsible for writing and submitting professional proposals.
- Follows up on all sales leads in a timely and effective manner.
- Promotes Sound & Communications and the products/services that are offered.
- Participate in Tradeshows, Industry functions, etc.
- Tracks and provides accurate sales information to company management.
- Provides accurate and timely submittal of sales orders and job notes to appropriate order processing and technical staff.
- Makes necessary sales presentations to customers and management as requested.
- Acquire and maintain sound knowledge of all product lines and services offered.
- Exceed all company sales goals and objectives as it relates to this position.
- Responsible for meeting profit requirements of the company.
- Represent the company in a professional and businesslike manner at all times.
- Ability to make presentations to key decision makers as well as C-Level positions.
- Other duties as required or assigned by company management including but not limited to: 1) assisting with installation of projects if needed 2) initiating a project while being onsite.
Duties
- Establish and maintain a Political Order of Influence for each customer. Develop needs assessment for proposals & sales presentations.
- Weekly update to management in order to maintain a database for all customers and proposals.
- Keep Outlook Calendar updated with customer visits and appointments.
- Develop and foster strategies with the VP of Sales to improve the depth of relationships with our customers.
- Weekly on-site sales calls. As much time as possible should be spent with the customer.
- Understand the customer’s buying process. Find the roadblocks and develop a strategy to overcome.
- Develop a deep understanding of AV industry terms and trends to keep current with the present market.
- Utilize conceptual/solution selling to better service the customer’s needs.
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized.
- Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse groups.
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as SmartDraw, CAD, Microsoft Office 365, MAC and other CRM tools.
- Avixa CTS-certified preferred but not required.
- Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing, and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.
- Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
- Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
- Submit to random drug testing.
Experience and Education:
The Account Manager shall preferably possess a four-year degree from an accredited college or university. The Account Manager should possess a minimum of 3 years’ prior technical sales experience. Non-degree applicants will still be considered with comparable work history.
Physical Requirements:
1. Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
2. Some light lifting of objects is required.
3. Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.
4. Traveling by vehicle within the assigned territory.
