The National Sales Manager - Hotel & Resorts is responsible for assisting and educating the customer regarding the Greater Phoenix destination and Visit Phoenix members in converting the sales lead into definite business which, in turn, results in economic impact for our destination. The goal of the National Sales Manager - Hotel & Resorts is to solicit customers through our database, tradeshows, advertising, internet & inquiries in order to create sales leads for Visit Phoenix members. Compensation is a combination of base salary, incentive opportunity, and amazing benefits.
Who is Visit Phoenix? We are a non-profit organization that promotes the Greater Phoenix community to a global audience of travelers. We book conventions at the Phoenix Convention Center, area resorts & hotels and provide research for the benefit of our members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prospect: Proactively identify prospective clients by phone and/or written correspondence to secure qualified business leads. Maintain client data information by complete & timely database entry
- Relationships: develop and strengthen relationships with new and existing clients (sales calls, entertainment, site inspections, trade shows, BET/FAM trips, etc.)
- Sales Process/Goals: Understand guestroom and meeting facility needs, food & beverage requirements, audio-visual & overall meeting specifications as it relates to negotiating and contracting with properties. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the group convention sales process to meet or exceed individual and group sales goals.
- Plan: prioritize and implement sales strategies and sales plans, to manage multiple tasks and deadlines including planning and coordinating; site visits, sales calls, sales missions, FAM/BET Trips and strategy meetings with property counterparts.
- Rebooking: understands the value of staying in communication with group contacts before, during and after the meetings to encourage a rebooking of business or to solicit other business
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
- Proven track record with team sales concept & attaining individual & team goals
- Must be flexible with work schedule some evenings and weekends will be required
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Good verbal and written communication required
- Hospitality industry sales experience
- Ability to work in a variety of settings, including sedentary seated computer work, standing for periods of time, and walking properties, and occasionally conducting work that includes lifting and moving objects of up to 20 pounds.

Pay: $73,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
