Job Description
The assistant key account manager acquires new chain and channel opportunities including initial research and negotiation, documentation, P.O. receipt, product deliveries, and store distributions.
- Build and maintain good relationships with major headquarter accounts, and negotiate sales between the buyers and grocery headquarters.
- Complies sales data (each chain POS sales, IRI) to utilize meeting with category buyer for further sales opportunity.
- Works closely with the marketing, logistics and sales departments to develop and increase company sales volume and channel distribution.
- Negotiate with category buyers for better shelf location, secondary location, and promotional opportunities.
- Visit the stores and negotiate cooler placement, permanent/temporary additional locations at store level in the field.
- Reviews and maintain current Terms and Conditions with customers, suggests improved conditions for company.
- Administrates sales data and maintains sales reports per account and channel.
- Attends tradeshows/events and is responsible for the research, support and logistics, as well as brand ambassador programs.
- Works with demonstration companies
- Support National Key Account Management as needed.
- Participate in sampling events as needed.
- Performs other assigned duties.
- Additional objectives may be added as needed by management to meet company direction.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of account management experience
- Must have at least 3 – 5 years of supervisory experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Marketing or Business Administration field is a must
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Knowledge in negotiation and floor placements in grocery stores
- Sales experience working with food/beverage manufacturers
- Computer literate and ability to proficiently navigate MS Outlook, Word and Excel
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills
- Must be able to work with little supervision
- Must be able to attend tradeshows/events/demonstrations when needed
