Job Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Business Development Assistant to join our Business Development team and support our marketing and business development efforts. As part of this role, you will research and identify new business opportunities, develop sales presentations, and create effective business plans. Building and maintaining long-lasting relationships with clients will also be a key responsibility.

You should have a keen eye for detail and be capable of conducting sales analysis. In addition, you will organize networking events and collaborate with the Marketing Manager to develop sales and promotional materials.

As a Business Development Assistant, staying up to date with the latest industry developments is crucial. Your high motivation, familiarity with CRM software, ability to handle stressful situations, and deadline-driven attitude will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the business development team in developing and managing strategic partnerships to grow our business.
  • Creating accurate and detailed sales reports.
  • Assisting the business development team in creating sales presentations.
  • Reporting and coordinating the day-to-day sales activities with the business development team.
  • Track and report on the status of bid invitations. Ensure bid feedback is obtained and documented and Win/Loss tracking with regular reporting.
  • Manage the administrative tasks for the business development team related to increasing sales.
  • Keep the CRM up to date with all business development activities.
  • Assist the business development team and marketing manager in scheduling meetings with existing/potential customer meetings.
  • Assistance in creating client proposals and RFP responses, including organizing business development materials; writing and editing copy; proofreading; and managing production, distribution and follow up.
  • Assist with client gifting, outreach, and any additional event planning.
  • Assisting the business development team in initial client outreach meetings and keeping up to date with business development actions.
  • Keep the business development team organized in all its endeavors related to maintaining and growing business with new and existing clients.
  • Assisting in creating and continually updating the company marketing materials.
  • Coordinating and project managing for the business development team in conference and networking event preparation. Attend the event to support the Business Development Team as needed.
  • Assist business development team in researching and investigating potential leads and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to create winning strategies and actions to meet the business revenue goals and objectives.
  • Fulfill requests for business development materials, including bios, brochures, and capability presentations and respond to all inquiries as they relate to business development.
  • Monitoring and analyzing sales data to prepare and maintain an accurate sales forecast and pipeline of potential construction projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • 3 to 5 years of work experience as a business development associate, business development representative, business development coordinator, or professional office administrative experience in a professional services organization.
  • Familiarity with CRM software preferred.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office tools.
  • The ability to collaborate and think creatively in a team environment.

  • Ability to offer excellent customer service.
  • AEC industry experience is a plus.

Salary

50k-70k depending on experience.

Full time: 9:00am - 5:00pm in Lancaster, OH office

Amount of Travel Required: Less than 10%
