Sales Director / Business Development Manager (Hands-On) - Specialty Flooring Manufacturer
Well-established and profitable specialty flooring manufacturer located in Calhoun, GA has the immediate need for a senior-level Sales Director / Business Development Manager to expand several channels/verticals and build out the sales infrastructure within these areas. This position will be responsible for all commercial, industrial and specialty products. The overall goal of this position is to seek out new channels of product sales with high profit margins and grow this area of the business. Reporting directly to the CEO, the company is committed to investing resources to build out this area of the business. This position will initially be very hands-on with the goal of managing additional business development / sales professionals as revenues increase. If you are extremely self-motivated and goal-oriented with a desire to “run and grow your own business” this will be an excellent career move.
Overall Responsibilities for the Sales Director / Business Development Manager (Hands-On)
- Quickly attain knowledge of the company’s product offerings in its and existing commercial, industrial and specialty products (“Commercial”) revenue streams.
- Develop a plan to improve sales and margins on the existing Commercial customers and products.
- Develop relationships with vendors and work with senior leaders to develop new products and to grow revenue within the existing Commercial customer base.
- Work with senior leaders to identify new sources of revenue outside of existing lines of business and develop mini-business plans / pro-formas to prioritize channels / verticals with high margin and revenue potential.
- Identify and attend relevant Trade Shows to promote product sales in new business verticals / channels.
- Travel as necessary to meet with customers, vendors, etc. (currently estimated at 20%)
- This is a hybrid role with an average work week comprising 3 days working from home and 2 days in the office (once up and running and not traveling).
- Identify technologies or resources to increase the productivity of the Business Development group and present business cases to Senior Management for implementation.
Requirements for the Sales Director / Business Development Manager (Hands-On)
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate increasingly successful business development / sales experience in a business to business environment preferably in the commercial flooring or building products industry. Our client is open to other similar industries for candidates with exceptional track records.
- Candidates must have proven success developing new accounts and/or lines of business
- Candidates must have an outstanding record of exceeding sales quotas
- Must possess both the desire and ability to manage sales / business development professionals.
- A college degree is highly preferred
- The ability to travel as needed is required (estimated at 20%)
- Candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of Calhoun, GA 30701
- The key requirement for success in this position is the ability to set stretch goals for yourself and independently do what it takes to meet or exceed them.
Compensation / Benefits - this is a full-time permanent position with benefits, PTO, etc. The base salary for this position is 150k – 200k with a total bonus potential of $50k (paid out quarterly). This position will also be eligible to receive commissions and with no caps on commissions! Once up and running, the expectation is this individual will earn $300k+.
