THE MILTON AND HATTIE KUTZ HOME JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: KSLC Sales & Admissions Assistant
HOURS: 40 Hours per week salaried
RESPONSIBLE TO: Sales & Marketing Director
REQUIREMENTS: Primary responsibility of the KSLC Sales & Admissions Assistant is to assist with developing relationships with a growing base of referral sources, leading to a consistent flow of quality referrals to the KUTZ Campus. Must be compassionate and understanding of the needs of the elderly and disabled, and support the core vision, mission and values of the Milton and Hattie Kutz Home
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate/or Bachelor Degree from an accredited college in Business, Communications, Marketing, Nursing or Four years equivalent experience in either a Clinical Liaison or Admissions role
2. One year experience as a admissions assistant in Long term Care a must.
3. Long-term facility preferred.
4. Knowledge of MS Word, working knowledge of personal computer
5. Experience with navigating and managing Point Click Care, Ensocare and PASARR Process
6. Knowledge of Digital photography
8. Minimum 1 year experience in either a Clinical Liaison or Admissions role
9. Is familiar with Federal and State Long Term Care regulations and requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Directs, coordinates and administers the admission process.
2. Receives all admission inquiries with subsequent follow-up via phone and/or mail.
3. Conducts tours of facility for families and potential residents.
4. Develops and maintains relationships with hospital and agency social
Workers/discharge planners.
5. Develops, reviews, and updates admission materials.
6. Completes and distributes admission paperwork.
7. Provides appropriate forms necessary to request adequate medical information to make decisions regarding admissions.
8. Works closely with social service director to assistant with room assignments, resident and family issues and discharge planning.
9. Attends management, quality assurance and utilization review meetings.
10. Assist with monthly State required “Nursing Home Utilization
Statistics “report.
11. Develops and displays signage—resident door nametags, welcoming new admissions and in memoriam.
12. Assist with public relation efforts for the facility.
13. Contacts local news media to initiate and facilitate coverage of the
Home’s activities.
14. Writes and places ads in a variety of publications and print media.
15. Screens all prospective admissions to determine that the delivery of appropriate care will be provided in the long term care setting.
16. Responsible for the newsletter, “In Your Interest” and its quarterly distribution.
17. Photographs, displays and archives pictures of residents and the Home’s events.
18. Assist with the Coordination and edits of the annual report.
19. Keeps informed of legislative changes and regulations relevant to long
Term care.
20. Maintains confidentiality of all resident care information & abide by HIPAA regulations
21. Assure that resident rights and safety are maintained at all times
22. Excellent communication skills, and be able to follow verbal and written instructions
23. Ensures a smooth discharge process for patients transitioning from the acute care setting and then home
24. Must function independently and the ability to work effectively with patients/residents, personnel, families and support agencies
25. An understanding of the Medicare and Medicaid processes
26. OTHER DUTIES AS REQUIRED
PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to maneuver around the facility while touring potential residents and families.
