Columbia Laboratories, member of Tentamus Group, Portland's premier Food/Environmental/Hemp analytical testing laboratory is currently looking for an Inside Sales Representative to join our Sales team.
In this exciting Remote/Hybrid role, you will be a key contributor to growing our laboratory business in the following way:
- Assisting the Regional Sales Director (RSD) with new business opportunities through market metrics including trade shows, trade events, industry functions, cold call prospecting as well as initiated leads for services offered by the company.
- Providing best in class customer service to customers.
- Assisting the RSD and GM by executing pre-defined strategic sales plan initiatives to accommodate laboratory goals.
- Assisting with prospecting potential customers for new business within the lab market.
- Traveling and representing the Company at trade association events and meetings to promote product.
- Communicating with prospective customers, making outbound calls and following up on leads
- Understanding customers' needs and identifying opportunities for sales
- Assisting with client inquiries using lab resources and Sales Director
- Building and maintaining an understanding of applicable Tentamus group offerings
- Upselling services where applicable
- Explaining and demonstrating the value of our services to prospective customers
- Researching and qualifying new sales leads
- Closing sales and achieving sales targets
- Executing all assignments per their due dates and promissory timing.
- Working cooperatively with each lab(s) internal departments.
- Working directly with RSD and GM of laboratory assisting with operational needs.
- Monitoring and evaluates the activities and products of the local competition.
- Assisting RSD on all marketing campaigns (social media, CRM, etc.)
- Assisting all CRM activities and/or set up.
- Helping to execute and achieve laboratory sales/budget goals.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from college or university preferably in biology, microbiology, chemistry, or sales or business.
- 1-2 years minimum food, supplement, pharma, medical device, cannabis-related customer service, sales, or technical sales experience. Similar industry sales experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of marketing and marketing principles.
- Must be able to discuss sciences such as microbiology, chemistry, and overall third-party laboratory services.
- Must have a basic understanding of the B2B cycle.
- Experience with CRM packages such as Dynamics, Sales Force, HubSpot etc.
- Presentation skills including PowerPoint presentations and all ancillary materials.
- Use of online prospecting software and/or websites.
- Microsoft Office/Teams proficient.
