JOB SUMMARY
As Business Travel Sales Manager, you will:
- Conduct a successful, aggressive solicitation process involving outside sales calls, inside appointments, telephone calls, individual letter and direct mail. As a proactive sales manager, 80% (eighty) of time should be spent in active sales solicitation.
- Responsible for maintaining a sales quota as assigned by DOSM.
- Maintain total and complete sensitivity to customer satisfaction and guests’ needs.
- Responsible for preparing and providing the DOSM with weekly sales call reports and weekly itineraries of planned sales calls to potential customers.
- Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing on special projects as assigned.
- Participate in networking and evening events to create relationships in the business travel market.
- Daily knowledge of Transient guest arrives and provide a personal note if applicable • Use your sales prowess and flair for relationship building to develop, capture and secure new and repeat business, maximize sales revenue, and achieve financial goals. Exercise your power of persuasion in negotiating business travel room rates.
- Maintain regular communication with all corporate negotiated corporate accounts and send quarterly production reports to all clients. Communication to be property defined may include newsletters, client receptions/recognition functions, etc.
- Set and negotiate, with direction from property DOSM and potentially Regional Team, all rates for corporate negotiated accounts locally and brand (if applicable) volume negotiated accounts. Complete all portions of Brand RFP (Request for Proposal) process and local account RFP process.
- Connect with people in a meaningful way, continually innovating to expand the reach of corporate, business and travel industry accounts, tapping into community organizations and the media to elevate the property’s market share awareness and drive further business.
- Capture the client’s vision and effectively convey specifications to appropriate departments, rapidly responding to inquiries, concerns, and issues, ensuring an exceptional client experience, and driving future sales. Skillfully prepare and execute sales contracts.

JOB REQUIREMENT
- Send weekly reports (5 outside sales calls per week)
- Goals will be established for site tours, hosting open houses, and other outside sales-related activities.
- You must learn the Marriott CI/TY sales reporting system and take detailed notes.
- Maintain related office supplies for site inspection sales kits and needed collateral.
- Make Reader Board – Daily Signage for all your in-house groups, ensure points and if necessary, commissions are paid in a timely manner and all billing is completed on the day of the event.
- Lightspeed – billing and authorizations are managed at the weekly BEO Meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned, such as assisting in the restaurant during high demand periods.
- Update the Chef, and Food & Beverage Manager and GM daily as needed as it relates to operations.
- Ensure all guests are treated in an efficient and courteous manner and that IHS standards are met.
