Retail Sales Analyst (Entry Level)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as a Retail Sales Analyst. In this entry-level position, you will support the retail sales department by collecting, analysing, and interpreting sales data to provide insights and recommendations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize sales strategies and drive business growth. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your analytical skills and gain hands-on experience in the dynamic retail industry.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Data Collection and Analysis:
  • Collect and consolidate sales data from various sources, including point-of-sale systems, CRM tools, and internal databases.
  • Analyse sales data to identify trends, patterns, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product performance, customer behaviour, and sales channels.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to address specific sales-related questions or challenges.
  • Reporting and Presentations:
  • Prepare regular sales reports and dashboards to communicate sales performance, market trends, and actionable insights to management and cross-functional teams.
  • Create visually compelling presentations summarizing findings and recommendations for sales strategies and initiatives.
  • Sales Performance Evaluation:
  • Evaluate sales performance against targets, goals, and benchmarks. Identify areas of improvement and provide recommendations to optimize sales effectiveness.
  • Monitor key metrics, such as sales volume, revenue, conversion rates, and average transaction value. Highlight anomalies and investigate underlying causes.
  • Market Research and Competitive Analysis:
  • Assist in conducting market research to identify emerging trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape.
  • Analyse competitor sales data, pricing strategies, promotions, and market positioning to gain insights and make informed recommendations.
  • Collaboration and Support:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and product management, to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Provide analytical support for sales forecasting, budgeting, and sales planning activities.
  • Participate in meetings, contribute ideas, and provide insights based on data analysis.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyse large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., pivot tables, formulas), and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Prior experience in retail sales analysis or market research is a plus, but not required.
  • Familiarity with retail industry trends, customer behaviour, and sales strategies is beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $65,000.00 per year
