Position Summary:
The Product Development team is looking for a manager level candidat to join their team. This candidate will contribute to the success of the company by managing the Product Development (PD) Team in bringing new and improved products to market effectively, efficiently, on time, and on budget. Additionally, the candidate collaborates extensively with other departments in the on-boarding of new products and the on-going management of existing ones.
Additional Information:
- This is a permanent, full-time salaried position
- This position would participate in our hybrid schedule at our headquarters office
- Our headquarters office is located in 7630 Biscayne Blvd., Miami FL, 33138
- Our hybrid schedule is Monday & Friday; 2 days working remotely. Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday; 3 days working in the headquarters office
Major duties include:
- Manages the Product Development Team in the ongoing development of new items and the management of existing items for both the Front of the House® and room360® brands
- Is accountable for ensuring projects move smoothly through the development process from ideation through roll-out, keeping many projects moving forward simultaneously
- Maintains “big picture” roadmap of planned development projects 2 years in advance by keeping the team focused on current priorities while strategically working projects further out, yet easily pivots when plans change unexpectedly
- Leverages knowledge of manufacturing techniques and materials to creatively overcome development obstacles regarding costs, function, quality, or lead-times
- Conducts cost analyses to ensure competitive pricing while achieving target margin, and maintains expenditure sheet to align new item investment with annual budget
- Relies upon detailed systems and processes for all activities within the department to avoid delays and oversights
- Manages daily communications with the overseas offices and sales team in a clear, organized, and professional manner
- Partners with the sales team to ensure successful product launches, host product trainings, gather market feedback, and be the ultimate resource for product support
- Explores new materials and factories through research, vendor meetings, and consulting with industry experts
- Collaborates seamlessly with other departments including “Cremar”, Supply Chain, Finance, BTI, DC, and Sales
- Balances both the results and culture success of the team by effectively interviewing, selecting, onboarding, and training new team members
- Provides training, coaching and inspiration to impact team member development and attainment of quarterly and annual goals
- Maintains records of core team members’ achievements, productivity, and development opportunities to prepare and deliver on-time IDPs and annual reviews
- Helps to plan and execute Team lunches and other Team Member development activities
- Processes and approves accurate and timely payroll for core team members
- Leads or assists with special projects as needed
- Delivers product presentations, and attends sales meetings and trade shows as needed
- Promotes our FOH® Culture through action and leadership
- 4-year College Degree in Related Field
- Minimum of 6 years of product development experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading a team
- Prior experience traveling and visiting manufacturing factories
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
