Full description of the position

Job Summary

The Director of Sales is responsible for directing, coordinating, training, supervising the sales team on property around all sales related activities, including direct sales efforts, follow-up and proper sales administration. Responsible for the pre-opening and then ongoing generation of business to ensure that rooms revenue and catering revenues meet or exceed budgeted projections in order to maximize revenue & profits.

Responsibilities-

  • Supervise, administer and ensure timely completion of all activities of the Sales Department.
  • Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including Food & Beverage, Guest Services, and Reservations.
  • Develop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOP’s and ensure knowledge of and adherence to those polices by the sales team.
  • Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all Sales and Catering department personnel according to Margaritaville's SOP’s.
  • Develop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies.
  • Meet or exceed set goals
  • Operate the Sales department within established sales expense budget.
  • Conduct weekly sales meeting and daily sales stand-ups
  • Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional association activities and events.
  • Participate in all RevMAX meeting as the representative for Group and other sales related segment they are responsible for.
  • Use resorts computerized sales management system to manages the resorts business.

Job Requirements

  • At least 3 years of progressive hotel sales experience.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • 3.75 or better diamond experience preferred.
  • Pre-opening of Hotel or resort experienced preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and presentation software.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Physical Requirements

  • Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or consistently to lift, carry, push pull or otherwise move objects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
