Job Summary
The Director of Sales is responsible for directing, coordinating, training, supervising the sales team on property around all sales related activities, including direct sales efforts, follow-up and proper sales administration. Responsible for the pre-opening and then ongoing generation of business to ensure that rooms revenue and catering revenues meet or exceed budgeted projections in order to maximize revenue & profits.
Responsibilities-
- Supervise, administer and ensure timely completion of all activities of the Sales Department.
- Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including Food & Beverage, Guest Services, and Reservations.
- Develop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOP’s and ensure knowledge of and adherence to those polices by the sales team.
- Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all Sales and Catering department personnel according to Margaritaville's SOP’s.
- Develop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies.
- Meet or exceed set goals
- Operate the Sales department within established sales expense budget.
- Conduct weekly sales meeting and daily sales stand-ups
- Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional association activities and events.
- Participate in all RevMAX meeting as the representative for Group and other sales related segment they are responsible for.
- Use resorts computerized sales management system to manages the resorts business.
Job Requirements
- At least 3 years of progressive hotel sales experience.
- Supervisory experience required.
- 3.75 or better diamond experience preferred.
- Pre-opening of Hotel or resort experienced preferred.
- Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and presentation software.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Physical Requirements
- Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or consistently to lift, carry, push pull or otherwise move objects.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
