Full description of the position
Job Description:Orion FCU Multifamily (within the Commercial Real Estate Division) has an immediate opening for a Business Development/Relationship Manager position with a specific focus on developing, growing and managing the asset class of Multifamily Affordable Housing loans. This position will be an integral member of our CRE Multifamily team with an opportunity for significant career growth. Orion is seeking an experienced, self-starter individual who will build and grow new revenue channels and source opportunities related to Multifamily Affordable Housing loans in our region.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5 years business development experience
- A track record for calling on existing and prospective Multifamily Affordable Housing loan opportunities
- Specialized and industry-recognized sales, advisory and leadership experience
- Multifamily underwriting, marketing and sales, and account management experience is a significant plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Lead Generation/Research Identify, pursue and foster new business opportunities
- CRE Property Underwriting/Valuation Utilize/assess market data, internal resources, and property valuation expertise to determine credit worthy prospecting opportunities that meet Orions strategic and credit risk objectives
- Risk Management Appropriately assess transactional risk through knowledge of sponsor, financial, legal, construction management, loan policy, regulatory, and market issues
- Collaboration Work with Orions dedicated CRE team to ensure timely completion of due diligence and preparation of comprehensive credit approval packages; Team player able to adjust priorities to achieve team as well as individual goals
- Professional Approach Professionally and confidently represent the Credit Union in negotiation of acceptable credit terms and structure for complicated transactions
- 5+ years of Multifamily experience is required, including demonstrable track record of generating revenue
- Fundamental knowledge of CRE Multifamily Affordable Housing
- Deep Multifamily market knowledge, established industry relationships/book of business, and enthusiasm necessary to sell and become a trusted advisor to our members and team
- Technically proficient; fluency with Microsoft Office Suite, advanced internet skills and the ability to quickly comprehend and utilize market research tools and data sources
- Experience using various online real estate listing databases, such as CoStar, is a plus
- Professional, ethical demeanor and self-confidence with sales, negotiation, and closing ability, including excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to multi-task in a results-oriented environment. Ideal candidate must be a self-starter and team player, showing willingness to deliver an excellent client/member experience
- Undergraduate degree in business, finance, marketing, or related field
- Some travel in Mid-South region for deal leads and opportunities, in addition to periodic corporate conferences and events
- This is an exciting opportunity to join the growing Multifamily division within a financially solid, high performing credit union
- This position includes a base salary plus bonus
- This position is not considered remote
