Job Description
Job Title: Application Development Engineer Department: Sales and Marketing Revision Date: 6/2023
Reports To: SVP Commercial Sales FLSA Status: Exempt Date Approved: 6/2023
Job Purpose/Scope:
Responsible for the conceptualization and innovation of new products including scaling to manufacturing level.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
30% Innovation of new materials or processes to enable new products viable for markets pertinent to the current business.
20% Lead the identification of new properties or processes that facilitate new products.
20% Scaling of new products or processes into the manufacturing realm, ensuring the clear hand off of critical parameters and processing required to achieve functional product in a reliable manner.
20% Lead group members to assist in the facilitation of the above functions.
10% Interface with potential customers to better understand their needs and convey our capabilities in a clear manner.
Secondary Functions
Assist ancillary groups such as manufacturing, marketing and sales as needed to provided a technical perspective in that area.
Competencies:
Education
1. Five or more years experience in product development.
2. Experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment.
3. Experience in quality systems.
4. Strong knowledge of chemistry and chemical safety.
