Geiger, the largest privately held promotional products distributor in the US, is seeking an energetic, dependable team player to join our company as a Sales &. Use Tax Specialist in our Finance Department. The Sales & Use Tax Specialist will work closely with Sales & Use Tax Specialist III in a variety of sales & use tax-related functions, including reconciliations, analysis, and preparation of various reports.

What you will do:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales & use tax returns in an accurate and timely fashion as required by each taxing jurisdiction.
• Assist with gathering information for sales & use tax audits.
• Ensure proper sales and use tax compliance with any taxing jurisdiction Geiger and/or its subsidiaries may operate in.
• Interact with associates and sales partners as required to explain requirements on routine matters, escalate issues to Sales & Use Tax Specialist Lead, acquire additional information and/or other tax-related areas.
• Respond to notifications from various taxing authorities to resolve reporting and/or payment challenges as they arise, consult with Sales & Use Tax Specialist Lead on complex request.
• Maintain files of resale/tax-exempt certificates.
• Assist with company use of tax compliance audits to ensure appropriate compliance within varying jurisdictions. Areas of audit may include, but not be limited to, samples, office supplies, maintenance, repair, and other expenses, etc.
• Assist with the preparation of reports on monthly activities, entries, and year-end audit schedules as it relates to sales & use tax for Geiger management.
• Assist with the assembly and presentation of requested data and information from Geiger management. Maintain a variety of computer records, reports and analyses.

What you need:

• Associate degree in finance or accounting field or equivalent related professional experience required
• High level of competency with Microsoft Office required
• Understanding of general sales and use tax compliance issues
• Minimum of 1-2 years of sales and use tax experience or other related financial responsibilities
• Experience utilizing computerized tax software
