This position is open to Milwaukee area candidates with the general expectation that three days per week will be on-site (typically M-W), and remote candidates who are able to commit to a hybrid model where they can be on-site on a cadence to be mutually agreed upon.
Hanson Dodge—an AdAge Midwest Small Agency of the Year Silver winner in 2022 and Best Places to Work winner in 2021 and 2022—is looking to add an Account Director to our Client Leadership team.
The Account Director is HD’s strategic leader on client accounts, serving as trusted advisor to senior client representatives—and as an inspirational leader internal teams count on for support, guidance and counsel.
Responsibilities:
- Lead HD’s work across approximately 3-4 Clients to drive results
- Direct our cross-functional teams in developing and executing integrated programs that inspire consumers and make a significant impact on our clients’ businesses
- Be accountable for standard bearing and driving high levels of performance by the account teams and other agency co workers across all practices
- Stay sufficiently informed and personally involved in accounts under management, thereby engendering productive client/agency relationships
- Be accountable for the timely development and execution of plans, campaigns, and projects to ensure client and HD business goals are achieved
- Maintain open and complete communication of client issues with practice leaders and agency management
- Be personally responsible for inspiring our teams to do the best work of their careers
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 10 years experience in increasingly senior roles in an advertising agency or similar business, with a track record of leading idea-driven, integrated campaigns that positively impact clients’ businesses

- “Driver” and self starter personality who’s equally effective at working individually and being part of a team
- A history of success simultaneously managing multiple client accounts
- Demonstrable effectiveness coaching and developing more junior team members
- Digitally savvy with demonstrable experience leading a range of digital programs for clients: from digital media campaigns, to website and app builds, to eCommerce programs and more
- Exceptional presentation and client relationship-building skills
- Impeccable written, oral and interpersonal communications
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, advertising, marketing or similar field
