THE ROLE: Sr. Consulting Solutions Architect

The Consulting Solutions Architect (CSA) is a critical role in Presidio’s South Region. The role of the CSA is to provide a business focused approach and high touch engagement with a select number of high profile accounts. The Consulting Solution Architect evangelizes Presidio product offerings and new vendor technologies within those select customers. The Consulting Solutions Architect is primarily responsible for uncovering new opportunities with the customer, quarterbacking multiple concurrent technical initiatives and developing the trusted advisor role with the assigned accounts. Additionally, the CSA maintains our market beating pre-sales capabilities, drives the expansion of our services business and aligns appropriately with our vendor partners in those assigned clients. The Consulting Solution Architect is responsible for supporting our clients, our sales teams, our pre-sales teams and our services teams with excellent technical and services knowledge in a highly professional, efficient and always constructive manner.

Travel Requirements:

In this role you will be expected to travel up to 20% in the region. It will be based in either Knoxville, Nashville or Memphis, TN

Job Responsibilities:

  • Gains the trust of assigned accounts through technical relationship building, undoubted integrity, ability to lead and constant professionalism
  • Be able to message Presidio’s capability and position Presidio’s broad solutions set
  • Drives services and product sales across all areas either through primary knowledge or through the assistance of subject matter experts.
  • Provide strategic consulting and advice to our primary assigned clients
  • Tightly align with our services teams – PS, PSS, PFS, SES, MS, PMO, DBSS, CYBER, CC, etc. The Consulting Solution Architect understands our various services capabilities, takes the time to communicate pre-sales approaches to the services teams and provides appropriate leadership as projects/SRs are executed
  • Provide industry best services to our AMs, leading them at times and following them at other times, helping them compete by providing quality pre-sales material (design commentary, vendor information, diagrams, rough order of magnitude documents etc.) in a timely fashion
  • Continue to learn – CSAs continually need to add skills to serve our clients fully and to maintain relevant skills as the IT market transforms
  • Align with our vendor partnerships understanding their applicability to the assigned account base and helping execute specific vendor programs when possible
  • Provide leadership to our clients as they operate and transform their businesses. This includes proactively bringing up technical solutions to clients and educating them on the benefits of Presidio-Led solutions.
  • Sell consultatively – listening fully and steadily developing sales conversations to the point where the client is explicitly stating their needs, at which time we can start proposing our solutions. Fill the role as a trusted advisor to the assigned clients.
  • Lead, where appropriate, with our highest value offerings – Managed Services, Cloud Consulting etc.
  • Share best practices and industry intelligence with other team members
  • Partner with the Solutions Architects on customer activity, with early and constant communication
    • PreSales Opportunity owner
    • Owner of Technical Win Status
    • Keep SA activity updated in SFDC for relevant PreSales opportunity ownership
    • Determine who owns the creation of the Vision Doc (PSP, etc). Sometimes this will be the CSA and sometimes it may be a SME.
    • Own the quality of the customer facing SOW, BOM, etc
    • Assist SA’s, when necessary, with the creation of scopes of work and BoM’S.
    • Provide guidance across multi-discipline engagements within the assigned account base
  • Assist with pipeline tracking including activity that may occur outside of PreSales but that would be seen as “value added offerings” by the assigned accounts.
  • Assist in account planning and documentation to ensure company leadership is able to get a “at a glance” overview of the accounts they are responsible for.
  • Strategize with, and involve, the EA team at applicable clients to further drive strategy and Presidio relevance to the client
  • Engage Presidio technical leadership visibility into accounts
  • Be involved, on a regular basis, onsite with assigned clients
  • Build a knowledge of our client’s business and technology profile
  • Engage proactively with assigned accounts, including initiation of strategic meetings
  • Constantly think about your strategy with your accounts and what we can do to help them and enlarge our share of their business

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience with design, implementation and/or support of two or more of the following:
    • Network Route & Switch
    • Data Center
    • Security, Compliance & Governance frameworks and tools
    • Authentication / Authorization, Directory services
    • Cloud platform certifications: Cloud Solution Architect with AWS, Azure or GCP

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Presales experience with a strong bias for action.
  • 2+ years of public cloud experience, preferably AWS or Azure
  • Program management or project management experience
  • Experience driving complex multi-discipline IT projects
  • Experience and/or ability to prepare RFP/RFI response, proposals and solutions
  • Experience with reviewing and/or writing statements of work (SOW) and Bill of Material (BoM) for various types of projects in support of Cloud and datacenter solutions

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
  • 7+ years of working experience in systems engineering or solution architecture
