We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales & Marketing to join our team at SpringHill Suites Willow Park Hotel by Marriott hotel located in Willow Park, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading the sales and marketing efforts to achieve optimal occupancy growth, generate new business, and maximize total revenue while exceeding hotel profit objectives. As the Director of Sales & Marketing, you will play a critical role in shaping the hotel's success and driving its growth in a competitive market.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the annual budget, advertising, public relations, marketing, and sales plans and programs to maximize rate occupancy and food & beverage opportunities.
- Coordinate and maximize revenue from group, transient, and catering sales solicitations and bookings.
- Proactively conduct outside sales calls, sales tours, and client entertainment to build strong relationships and generate business.
- Stay informed about market trends and competitors to identify revenue opportunities and develop proactive strategies.
- Monitor production of top accounts and analyze market trends to make informed decisions.
- Train and empower the hotel staff to recognize and capitalize on sales opportunities, increasing occupancy and revenue.
- Supervise the Catering & Event Management Team to ensure budgets are met or exceeded.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of hotel operations, policies, and departments to facilitate effective collaboration.
- Maintain strong visibility in the local community and industry organizations.
- Attend and conduct meetings, providing rotational training as required.
- Foster professional relationships and promote open lines of communication with marketing partners and internal departments.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive hotel sales experience preferred, or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience, or a 2-year college degree and at least 4 years of related experience.
- Valid driver's license in the applicable state.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively negotiate, convince, sell, and influence stakeholders, including managerial personnel, hotel guests, and corporate clients.
- Strong analytical skills and strategic vision in establishing appropriate sales deployment.
- Proficiency in general computer knowledge, especially Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and thrive in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent organization and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and manage people of diverse backgrounds, solve complex problems, and create a productive sales team.
- Advanced knowledge of sales, marketing, and hospitality principles and practices.
- Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
- Familiarity with financial information and basic arithmetic functions.
The three key job requirements for this position are:
Minimum two years Marriott hotel sales experience. Knowledge or familiarization with Fosse and other Marriott sales systems. Reside within a 45-minute drive of Willow Park.
