Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Sales Representative within our Chemical Systems division in Richmond, VA. This position is responsible for building and maintaining business relationships with customers through prospecting, planning and effective communication.
Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the Sales Representative, you will be expected to work with and support the Chemical Systems team to ensure customers have a positive experience.
Your additional responsibilities as a Sales Representative will include:
- Manage a portfolio of customers and prospects to grow new business while maintaining service to existing customer base.
- Develop action plans for developing prospects and pursuit accounts through the sales cycle.
- Establish and maintain customer contacts at all levels of customers’ organizations to maximize business opportunities for Carpenter.
- Collaborate with Carpenter technical, manufacturing and customer service personnel to ensure customer satisfaction at assigned accounts.
- Provide routine written communications detailing interactions with customers, competitive products/activities, progress vs account plans and/or specific customer information.
- Forecast monthly & yearly sales to support planning process.
Bachelor’s degree- 3+ years of proven business to business sales experience
- Strong negotiation, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to travel overnight up to 25% for customer meetings and other business activities.
- Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office
