Full description of the position

$2,500 Sign On Bonus

The Doubletree by Hilton Omaha Downtown is building a team of top performers. We are offering a $2,500 sign-on bonus for this role.

Our coveted Hilton/Doubletree Brand hotel is under brand new ownership & management. We are looking for talented hospitality professionals to manage our 414 guestrooms, 30,500 square feet of meeting space including an Executive Meeting Center. In addition to a $2,500 sign-on bonus, we offer medical, dental & vision benefits, paid time off and complimentary employee meals & parking.

We are located in the heart of downtown Omaha with easy access to interstates I-480 and I-80; 10 minutes from the Eppley Airport. With Omaha’s Historic Old Market, CHI Health Center, TC Ameritrade Park, Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, Carter Lake, Ameristar Casino and Botanical Gardens nearby, you will be in the center of all the action.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Catering Sales Manager, you will fill a vital role in supporting your hotel’s financial goals through suggestive selling the banquet facilities, food & beverage, audio visual for events through direct client contact to maximize total banquet meeting space & revenues. This position reports to the Director of Catering/Director of Sales and Marketing.


Essential Functions

  • Be incredibly friendly, customer centric, love to smile and have FUN in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and must be detail oriented
  • Knowledgeable of event trends, food and beverage composition, and exercises creativity in designing catering sales solutions
  • Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business through sales efforts that include; in person prospecting sales calls, client relationships, obtaining referral business & networking
  • Suggestive selling to capture the maximum amount of revenue to meet/exceed sales goals while maximizing banquet space and achieving food cost goals
  • Prepare proposals and contracts for client review
  • Plan, upsell and finalize all details of the event with the client including space requirements, event timing, equipment rentals, menu selection, themes/decorations and coordinate with the appropriate departments in the hotel
  • Problem resolution focused approach. Resolve any issues, complaints and problems to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Work with the culinary leadership team to support food cost knowledge and profit margin goals
  • Conduct site inspection tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • One or more years of experience in Hotel Catering Sales. (Special consideration will be given to those who exhibit a proven track record of exemplary sales performance in similar business fields with strong sales abilities, excellent oral and written communication skills, and guest centric management practices.)
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate weekend events, if needed

System requirements:

  • Possesses software knowledge (Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Delphi FDC sales system knowledge is a plus
  • Social Tables or other diagram solution is a plus
