Overview:
BerryDunn is seeking a Senior Consultant in Organizational Change Management (OCM) to join our State Government Practice Group (SGPG) in support of a current, active Initiative located in Jefferson City, MO. The Initiative includes a set of coordinated technical implementations, which are collectively facilitating a large-scale digital transformation that includes:
  • Modernizing the applications used by employees to conduct their work
  • Mapping citizen/business experience journeys to inform next step project prioritization to enhance state services
  • Strengthening the technical platform that supports the states’ web-based services
The Initiative is supported by a dedicated Project Management team that is currently resourced by two OCM consultants and a team member partly dedicated to OCM coordination. This role would join the OCM resource team to provide additional support given the expanse of the Initiative. In addition to the dedicated OCM consultants who are part of the Project Team, technical application vendors delivering Initiative services sometimes also have OCM support resources, and this role would operate to help manage those resources. The BerryDunn Project/OCM team serves to set the standard for, support, and manage the state’s project management quality.

Relative to this initiative:
  • An SGPG Organizational Development (OD) Manager helps to guide OCM strategy and provides oversight to the dedicated OCM team
  • An Initiative Program Manager helps set Initiative management strategy, parameters, expectations, and a uniform project/OCM management discipline across the entire Initiative
  • OCM works with and through a project management team allocated by project to support the full Initiative
  • The state’s executive and business sponsors are advocates for OCM
Travel Expectations: The preference (client and BerryDunn) is that this position would be on-site in Jefferson City, MO. In the case that option is not feasible, the preference is a willingness to travel up to 50% for on-site work.
Responsibilities:
You will:

  • Partner with the BerryDunn Project Management team along with relevant state constituents to identify and help to support best-practice, effective OCM implementation work
  • Operate as part of a small OCM team that works collaboratively and interchangeably to support Initiative needs
  • Help to ensure that new technology implementations and upgrades encompassed within the Initiative are well-supported by OCM activities including and not limited to those required by the Program Management Plan; this scope encompasses regular OCM Health Assessments, Stakeholder Management and Analyses, Change Readiness Assessments, Communication Plans, Training Needs Assessments and Training Plans, Impact Analyses, OCM Risks/Issues/Activities/Decisions documentation and management, etc.
  • Contribute to weekly and monthly OCM status reports provided to the client per the Program Management Plan parameters
  • Manage in consideration of the state’s greater context beyond the Initiative, which includes other large-scale technical projects
  • Interact with a state team serving as Change Leaders to help facilitate success of the overall Initiative, especially focused on awareness, desire, knowledge, ability, reinforcement, adoption, usage, and resolution of relevant impacts
Qualifications:
You Have:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in related field (Organizational Development, Communication, Project Management, Industrial Psychology, Business, Sociology, Anthropology, etc.)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience designing, facilitating, and implementing a developmental readiness approach to prepare an organization for process changes, system implementations, and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ demonstrated practical experience in providing organizational development (OD) and organizational change management (OCM) services at the level of strategy development and implementation, preferably in or for state governments
  • Explicit understanding of a hybrid matrix organizational structure including methods to navigate, accelerate, and measure meaningful change in a large and complex organizational structure
  • Advanced knowledge of organizational culture development, employee engagement, adult learning practices, high potential and leadership development, and business process/continuous improvement work
  • Excellent project management and coordination abilities and skills for instructional design and facilitation
  • Specific ability to support project-level pilots and implementations and to scale up to support multifaceted, higher volume, interconnected implementations
  • Ability to collaborate with state and federal agencies
Compensation Details:
The base salary range targeted for this role is $90,000 - $120,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
