Full description of the position

Performs engineering duties in planning and designing custom cutting tools, and manages the work of multiple functions to support the process engineering operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Quote custom cutting tools for pricing and delivery.

2. Develop the structural design of tooling according to customer specifications

3. Check stock inventory of blanks to determine availability and anticipate needed stock; works with purchasing to place orders and expedite material when necessary.

4. Periodically travels with the Business Development Manager to reinforce customer relationships.

5. Respond to inquiries regarding tooling deficiencies, tooling design problems and other customer concerns.

6. Utilizes technical experience to provide support to the operations function.

7. Recommend design modifications to eliminate tool malfunctions.

8. Develop and test tools of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, and possible new applications.

ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED

1. Bachelor’s degree in the engineering field

2. Experience in engineering management or technical management

3. Exceptional conceptual skills, knowledge of design techniques and the tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans

4. Possesses functional and technical skills including CAD skills, supply management, process improvement, and attention to detail

5. Strong verbal communication skills and ability to resolve conflict

6. Demonstrated leadership ability

7. Ability to work independently and within a team environment

8. Ability to determine customer needs, meeting quality standards for service and customer satisfaction

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
