Outside Sales Representative for Lighting Business

Starbeam Lighting Solutions is a family-owned lighting distributor that has offered lighting solutions, energy audits, and ongoing lighting education to the St. Louis community for over 50 years. We are looking for an outside sales representative who is a confident, independent, self-starter who wants to be part of the dynamic lighting business. From fulfilling customer’s everyday lighting needs to providing energy saving LED solutions, this position is best suited for a motivated person who thrives on problem solving.

Your specific duties as an Outside Sales Representative includes:

• Identifying and targeting new prospects
• Servicing existing customer base
• Building trust and educating customers
• Identifying customer needs and wants
• Presenting lighting solutions
• Negotiating and closing the sale
• Submitting project documentation on a timely basis
• Attending sales/training meetings
• Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor at all times

Job Requirements:

You must be detail-oriented with strong organizational, time management, prioritization, and follow-up skills. It is important you display excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and that you can easily establish rapport with your customers. You will be focused on cultivating new relationships with businesses by developing an understanding of their lighting needs. You must have a strong work ethic and be eager and willing to learn about our industry and our proven sales process.

Specific Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to pass criminal background check
• Quick decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Sales experience or training a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
