In partnership with Umbra leadership, you will be responsible to expand, continuously improve and execute our US Government strategy. You will be responsible for establishing and fostering relationships across the customer community to ensure Umbra is increasingly included in the formation of US defense, intelligence and civil mission strategies. You will actively contribute to Umbra's internal development, setting priorities and serving as a primary voice of the customer. You will lead major captures as well as developing long term campaigns, joining internal development with customer-directed R&D activities to realize joint US-Umbra goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Expand upon and refine Umbra’s US Government strategy.
- Establish prioritized lines of business and develop a strategy and cadence for shaping and capture.
- Manage the Federal Sales pipeline, proposals & capture.
- Represent Umbra at key industry events, speak publicly as a thought leader in the industry, and work to influence broader industry discussion with the support of our marketing team.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Convey technical requirements to the software and space systems teams and be a vocal advocate for customer needs internally.
- Develop partnership ecosystems to increase sales opportunities.
Basic Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in the aerospace and defense community, with a focus on space
- Demonstrated success in the GEOINT community
- Demonstrated ability to grow technology portfolios in the aerospace and defense industry
- Experience leading the capture of a wide range of programs with the USG ranging from seedlings to major acquisitions
- Availability to travel monthly for conferences and customer engagements
- Demonstrated ability to develop and lead a cross functional team
- Experience recruiting, managing, and coaching colleagues
- Desire to speak publicly and persuasively as a formal Umbra representative
- Aptitude for understanding technical concepts and explaining them to lay audiences
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Desire to work in a dynamic and fast-paced startup environment
- Most hold a TS clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with multiple relevant USG agencies including NRO, NGA, SOCOM, Air Force, USSF, SSC, or NASA
- Experience with direct user outreach to build product demand
- Experience developing, operating, or using the data from space systems
- Skill designing, implementing, and scaling formal business processes
This position can be located in Santa Barbara CA, Austin TX, or Washington, DC.
