Account Specialist / Customer Service Opportunity:
The Account Specialist is an integral position, as it connects our vendors to our customers and our outside reps to the warehouse. The position involves customer service, account management, procurement, and inside sales. We expect our Account Specialists to be responsive, personable, communicative, and collaborative. As the specialists grow, they will develop long-standing relationships with our customers, vendors, management team, warehouse employees and outside reps as well as become an expert in a variety of different product lines GLI offers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Interact daily with customers and suppliers to answer questions, give out information and pricing, and expedite parts
- Develop relationships with new and existing vendors to help with procurement and product offering
- Develop a deep understanding of our product offering and be able to creatively determine the best product to offer our customers
- Resolve customer complaints on technical, quality, billing, and delivery issues
- Implement GLIs procurement and pricing strategy to new and existing customers to increase profitability
- Assist with warehouse operations processes including receiving, order pulling, production, and shipping.
- Improve GLIs procurement behavior to help with inventory control
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Competencies:
An Account Specialist must have passion for creating a remarkable customer experience, while identifying opportunities to create cost effective solutions for GLI and our customers. He/she must be able to multi-task and be able to change gears quickly and effectively. As GLI is looking to advance and grow, the specialist also must be able to adapt to new requirements and see change as a challenge as a growth opportunity and not a requirement.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
- Must have basic understanding of customer service operations, supply chain, and sourcing
- Detail oriented with demonstrated organizational and multitasking skills a must
- Team player who is assertive, goal-oriented, positive and self-motivated
- High level of Integrity
- Ability to rapidly build knowledge of ours and our suppliers product lines
- Understand and use basic selling techniques: opening, probing, presentation, over-coming objections
Education: Associates Degree required, Bachelor’s preferred
Experience: 2-5 Years of Customer Service, Procurement, or Sales experience
Computer Skills: Excellent PC computer skills – MS Word, Office and advanced skills in Excel
Certificates & Licenses: In order to satisfy proper product knowledge requirements he/she must complete all vender training programs as needed. Driver's License required for those interested in following a sales representative path.
