PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
This position will play a critical role in leading the strategic development, management, and commercial success of electrosurgical products for Aspen Surgical. This individual will be responsible for building and executing the global product strategy to maximize revenue and profitability for the energy segment of the Aspen Surgical product portfolio.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
This position will play a critical role in leading the strategic development, management, and commercial success of electrosurgical products for Aspen Surgical. This individual will be responsible for building and executing the global product strategy to maximize revenue and profitability for the energy segment of the Aspen Surgical product portfolio.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the product life cycle of the Electrosurgical portfolio, consisting of the Bovie and Olsen brand energy products.
- Lead product life cycle management efforts for the portfolio, inclusive of market research and voice of customer, new product planning, new product introduction, post-launch product management, and product retirement.
- Manage the global revenue/profit for the product categories while demonstrating strong financial acumen and logical decision making. Understand and demonstrate sound thought processes as it relates to business cases, investment requests, forecasting, pricing, deal structures, and assessing strategic options.
- Develop the global product strategy for the portfolio, working with various cross functional leaders.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of marketing and product management disciplines necessary for building business and marketing plans. Utilize market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning to develop preferred product offerings for targeted segments and channels.
- Understand methods available to execute primary research that are necessary to drive product line/portfolio decisions. Can identify market opportunities through primary and secondary market research and take action by implementing and managing solutions that meet customer needs.
- Identify and remain current on market trends. Determine product lifecycle implications and make decisions to drive market competitiveness and to achieve sustainable economic success.
- Translate market and customer needs across multiple regions and channels into clearly defined product requirements and product line strategy. Serve as the internal voice of the customer to drive product line additions, changes, new launches, etc.
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the products that comprise the portfolio in order to support and train internal and external customers.
- Ensure that all promotional, launch, and marketing activities align with the overall portfolio strategy and facilitate proper communication and collaboration with all applicable marketing resources across regions and channels.
- Strong ability to influence and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including sales, product development, sourcing & manufacturing, etc.
- Bachelors degree is required, with a major in Marketing, Business, technical, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in product management with medical device experience highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of product management principles including demonstrated experience developing a full product line strategy and roadmap.
- Success leading broad product portfolios and applying product life cycle management principles to deliver growth.
- Ability to build and execute a marketing plan and knowledge of marketing strategies to maintain and grow market share.
- Demonstrated experience developing and launching new products.
- Deep experience with standard market research tools and methods, including designing and executing voice of customer research and user requirement identification.
- Strong clinical competency, strategic mindset, business insight and analytical skills.
- Experience working within quality systems and FDA regulatory knowledge highly preferred.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated with track record of establishing and executing against goals with passion and urgency.
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional skills in communication and presentations.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time. International travel may also be required.
